Wildcards still to come. It will be interesting to see if they bring back Turdell or any other familiar faces. I doubt it will happen but i'd sure like to see Leif Mumma get a wildcard. His skiing between the hits was a breath of fresh air. His general disposition towards charging were pretty cool too. .
Man, there's been a changing of the guard. Not a single 'grown up' charger left. That said, I'm looking forward to seeing what Finn Bilous can do this year, and Wei Tien Ho looks pretty formidable.
Wildcards announced. Nice to see Turdell get a wildcard. Dude deserves to be there for sure.
Sooo stoked to see local legend and certified alien Dillon Flinders get a spot. I can't wait to see what he's able to do. Please stay healthy!

For sure Dillon is an animal. And having Pollard around as a mentor will help him. I’m also stoked that Moga got a wildcard. Like his style and he’s also a really nice guy.

Lets get this thing going already
I don't know if it's just straight up all the episodes combined but it was worth the watch.

Slight thread drift while we wait for comps to start:
I'm contemplating a Yurp trip to coincide with the Verbier comp. Bucket list item for me. Can any euro mags give me some beta? Is it possible to get reasonably priced (relatively speaking) accom within striking distance of the lifts that access the venue? Or is it all booked up and prices jacked up? Good time to visit? I have a reasonable budget, would be looking to hit some steeps and tree skiing, and prob would hire a guide to hit some larger non death defying objective. Many beers would be drank. Probably rolling solo. I'd stay for a week or so to be able to cover the event's whole weather window.
I'll delete this if mags don't want this discussion in the comp thread.
Competition season is underway in Whistler!
A 2 Star junior event is underway and runs for 3 days. U12, U15, and U18 categories. The venue is McConkey's in the Harmony Zone. The area is named after "Diamond" Jim McConkey.
Extreme lowtide conditions forced the event away from the usual venue on Blackcomb. There was a bit of pow for the kids yesterday, with freezing levels rising throughout the day. Today looks like sky high freezing levels again, and then rain for Saturday. A very 2023 start, but the kids are sending it! Vibes are high!

He mentioned: the hight of the cliff was no problem, the inrun was sketchy.
Baqueira Beret stop is cancelled.

Are there any Euro mags in the area who can comment on the conditions right now?
Any chance for an alternative location or just yet another shortened season? Love the FWT but this part of it sucks.
Bummer. Was really looking forward to a 6 event schedule.
