    Totally. Took us about 3 hours to break 2000' of trail, then had to break trail down on anything low angle. Training!

    Bit of a different day out there today. Still fun. Stormy. Velvety surface.

    Opening of Colter at Targhee was awesome today. It wasn't crowded and the snow was knee deep. Incredible day!

    Pretty dead in here. Soft snow on some shady N-facing zones.

    Tram opens Saturday. Personally on the sidelines for a bit more (ankle) after a rock hit...careful out there.

    I haven’t flown with skis in a few years. Flying United back to the EC on Monday and wondering if I still get a ski bag for the price of a regular checked back.

    Anyone know? DJ?

    I fly opposite.
    Sadly now.
    Large ski bag. Under fitty pounds is just a bag. No worries. Skis poles clothing etc.

    Back in the day you got one single ski bag and one boot bag. But who checks their boots. Fuck that. Boots and footbeds are carryon. Always. I’ll ski in jeans. And rental skis. But boots are like my wife. No one fucks my boots.

    PS. Clothing in my ski bag is in kitchen garbage bags. Over the years I’ve had zippers blow out, and having my clothes on the tarmac is an ugly thought.
    Kill all the telemarkers
    But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
    Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
    Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason

    Yeah... so well articulated

    1 ski Bag - 50#
    1 Boot Bag - 50#
    (without ur boots in it)
    ... together, they qualify as "sports equipment"

    1 checked luggage bag - 50#

    Fees per bag IF your flight is getting a premium for checked luggage.

    Bootbag has to look like/be a Boot Bag
    I am not in your hurry

    Always carry your boots on. Unless you don't mind rental boots.

    I've been skiing past the bowl thinking, fuck yeah, I'd ski that. Looks creamy. Also some big mofo rocks sticking up still. Gonna be a bit of carnage mepredicteth.

    Skiing like I'm over revving my motor in 3rd gear for days now, tryin' to be safe.
    Go easy on it, not missing anything but turns for now.

    Pretty certain the ski bag translates to any typical 'checked bag'. The weight is the key factor.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Skiing is so nice right now, as there's so few people and the existing snow is playing super friendly. On piste and off is solid. Sounds like the 'Ghee is having a nice opener, prolly softer than the vill for now.
    I expect to be out this weekend EoB. will holla. Early speed laps? Straight to tram?
    I'm hesitant to bring out the new skinny(96mm) skis yet but it sure is the type of snow for them.
    Hoar-hey fixing to get yelled at by Crystal. Don't be afraid to yell back at her.
    She respects that shit deep down.
    DJ, The Ghee has been pleasant as hell this week, great snow for early season and for building muscle memory
    Sorry to hear about the ankle @wstdeep. I'm sure you will be back to your mind bending adventures soon.
    As for big red. LFG! Sugar and cream cheese are on the menu for Saturday's breakfast.
    EC don’t take your skis back East, just take your boots and rent if you have to go skiing, although since moving west decades ago I find it hard to ski when I go back as much as I love to ski but then again I’m talking about the Poconos.
    As far as the ghee goes, skiing has been pretty damn good. I was able to hit it this afternoon and at times felt like I was out there alone. The coverage is hanging in there and anytime you can see the sun at targhee is a bonus.
    Beautiful shots Kevo
    Well the bowl is pretty much as you'd expect. Bring your rock skis. I ripped one of the letters half off the base of mine, made for an interesting last run down
