That’s just what I thought. Music and voice over was some level of weirdness. Raising Arizona hit it. I try to hard to be nice sometimes

The Gemenids are firing tonight with clear skies in vermont. Could be a nice night for a walk or skin.

Cloudy up north and micro spikes required unfortunately.

Had a great viewing last year. Got up about 4am, made coffee and sat in a lawn chair in the backyard. Kinda hazy at the moment with a few stars poking out. Generally pretty reliable for some streaks. I'll be up early once again for this event.

Incident report is up and eye opening.

    mountwashingtonavalanchecenter.org/

    The last sentence is key

"The injured skier mentioned that if the solo skier hadn’t come along and skied the slope without incident, they were ready to make a conservative decision to turn around and ski down the COG."

Totally, hard to not think youre fine when someone drops in before you.

Also wonder if skier 1 had his bindings locked out or they malfunctioned as indicated in the report. Tib/fib compound fracture is not worth it!

It's an interesting dynamic and makes their poor decision more understandable but......man that solo skier was super lucky! How often do solo skiers go up on MW in considerable avalanche danger to ski high consequence lines like that this early in the season? It seems a little odd to me. Was the solo skier poaching the other two skiers tour? If the solo skier hadn't run into anyone, skied a line and got caught in a slide this story would probably be very different.

Anyways, it's looking like the east is about to have it's best season in what? 20, 30 years? Maybe it's less but with how infrequent good winters are back there these days it's a real bummer to take yourself out this early. I know you guys and gals out east are hungry but take it slow and let things fill in. I've seen way too many soldiers go down because of that "over stoke" too early in the season.

I place all the blame on instafluencers, and the subsequent eyeballs that see the "sick footy" when it's picked up by unofficial, powder, STE, etc. Buncha fucking knuckleheads!
