    Damn. Doesn't get much colder than hanging in the wind like that. We stay pretty warm when moving; moments like the one you experienced are reminders (for me) of what can happen when stopped/injured/caring for someone injured. A big puffy in the pack can be day (life) saving.

    Great your wife's back on it. Been there a couple times, not fun. Not surprised to hear about the wind loading. It was gusting near 60 for a while the night before. Chiming in to share this link. It's the gauge on the tram tower I think. You can see the wind and temp history. It's not 100 percent accurate because the snow load up there can affect the gauge but it's a good reference. There's other gauges on Teton pass, Towgs, the airport and many others.

    Pretty sure that mesowest station is on the building downhill from the topshack. Going out to T5 to clean it in a storm would be too sketchy.
    All of those weather stations are collected on the Mountainweather site and are the standard go tos for daily readings. Hell, I'm looking at that shit in the tramline.

    I see that the JHMR roundcams have been dropped from the webcam page but you can still google them up. The summit one has been moved to the roof of Mt. station and of course it sucks for seeing what's up in the bowl. Great for valley views tho, until it's stormy; then useless.

    They can fuck up a free meal, I swear.

    That, and the moving of the bear flats cabin to the bottom of Grand/Laramie confluence.

    Lol! For sure. It's weird how the cams shuffle around, on and off.

    I usually look at The Science Center Cam and the one at Buffalo Valley for a wide angle view of the Tetons. What is REALLY awesome about looking at the Meso station data is scrolling the posted 24 hour measurements of the wind, gusts and temps. It gives you beta that's no where else. Also, you can bring up the data for any recent date if you want to look further backwards in time.

    What's the Bear Flats cabin?

    Bear Flats is a snack shack below Sublette quad and above lower Sublette ridge. It's famous for the gap jump over it that T Moe did when D Ralves was in town about 10 years ago. Core Shot was there I think. Can't believe they moved it. Sacrilege

    I've skied many a Christmas morning. It's not usually dead but it's def a better call than the next 5 days. And usually quietest the day before.
    I'll likely be there first thing tho if yer around.

    Skiing is improving, less mania on the few runs. Snow is getting soft and smooth and Casper opens today. Probably gonna be kinda roly-poly with the thin skin but this am inversion is nice.

    Le Tits Now, hopefully this weekend.

    He did stupid shit and won a stupid prize.
    Or maybe it’s fucked around and found out.

    Either way. He’s an awesome human being and doesn’t have the resources that most people in the valley have.

    Even $20 could help him out.

    Yep, thanks CS.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I see that the Jeans day is sold out. Ouch, that's gonna be a shitshow.
    Opened Casper today; snow resembled blown snow tumbled, pushed and tilled maybe once. It'll be better soon. Coverage was good but scary thin off piste. Lotsa good turns to be made and the corn shavings where the sun hit it was nice.
    Kemmerer was treacherous this afternoon. Spatulas would have been money there.. Feels good to get the legs working in some mank though.
    ^^^ ha
    Pepsi’s run.
    Who the fuck is in charge?
    But it looks like this year there’s good news that bear flats will be open for snacks. Bad news it’s closer to the shitter. That outhouse stinks. Often.
    Also interesting they just photoshop the niehues map. You can still see the original south pass traverse. They suck at photoshop.
    I knew I'd never make it until you were done with work.
    Kemmerer was the adventurers hell run today. I pitied the 3 clucks heading over early. It was still firm to say the least.
    After the sun had hit some aspects, it did get nice and shavy.
    Is Teton Boot Lab in town still operational? Nothing seems too active online - hoping one of you are in the know. Looking to get some quick shell work done in town without driving to the village...
    If that was Bootsie’s operation he has moved over to Teton Valley and is fitting boots at Peaked on the weekend.
