I just saw John Collinson's film is now up on YouTube for those mags that couldn't attend the UAC event.

    Well done.

Just watched on YouTube. Loved the film, the shots, the storytelling, the quotes…bravo to everyone involved. That line on the Cottonwoods ridgeline was puckering!

Answer your question(s) TFW? Sorry I didn't answer sooner; didn't think those in charge (no pun intended) would appreciate lil' ol me making such knowledge public For once, a very accurate news article. They did however forget the one at the top of Sundance. Considering the areas it shoots, I don't see that ever going away for the forseeable future.

Also, for those that weren't able to attend PROSAW, below is a link to all the sessions. My friend and former, fellow co-worker Liam's is both excellent and very enjoyable.

Military Ordnance for Avy mitigation will still be around for a while....

Thanks for those who posted the vid and sltb article. For journalistic brevity, various stuff is left out, but both do a decent job of info about the UT big picture. Before the 105 Howitzer, various artillery were used including 75mm Pack Howitzer, 75 mm Recoiless Rifle, 105 Recoiless Rifle and 106 Recoiless Rifle. I had participated in a gun mission at Alta when the 106 RR was there. The 106 RR was replaced by two models of the 105 Howitzer throughout the US and Canada due to inbore explosions (with a fatality and numerous injuries....). The 105 H will still be around for a while with various highway avy mitigation programs including CO, UT, WA and WY. Also, some ski areas will be using the 105 H for some time as no good locations for RACS.

The stoke is very much appreciated, even moreso since Im pretty much out from skiing until Christmas (broke collarbone, shoulder blade and wrist riding Spinal Tap 6 weeks ago). I haven't posted much the last couple years, but will look forward to posting some good stoke once Im off the IR. Also, anyone who snagged a full season Soli parking pass is going to make a lot of friends.... Unfortunately I missed out on one. I would describe my ill fated attempt to buy one, but I get the feeling Im going to need to ration my bitchtickets for later in the season.

Thanks to all who offered an ATK jig, I got the hole drilled shout out to D-Roc.

Will re-pay in stoke when available. Currently nursing a vicious sprained ankle thanks to dirt bikes, but going to try and get in a boot this weekend.

3.4" Snow, 0.84" SWE at Collins snow study plot. Never got below freezing at the base. Looking pretty sloppy down here.

I just checked the Palisades Tahoe website and it shows 11" season total. INCHES, not feet! Can this be true? It is unfathomable. I had a brief fantasy that our slow start would entice some temporary residents to move to Tahoe.

Can confirm, but it's not that unusual for CA to be pretty dry until a big storm or two in December.

We've opened with less. Would expect either a Wednesday or Friday opening.

heya local mags> anyone looking for a full time painting position m-f?
Canyons school district should be posting a job at the end of the month(ill try update when the post goes up)
pretty chill place to work and very decent wage for experienced personel. It's a swing shift during school year 2pm-10:30 pm. Place has very good benefits too. Need pass fingerprint background check & subject to drug test for anyone who drives a work truck(everyone gets their own work truck/van) No test on hiring though, just random persons at whim of the bosses.
Be cool to get another skier in here Pretty good retirement package too if you put in 20 yrs. When scool's out it switches to 4 ten's to fill in the work week(3 day weekend in summer)
anyways, figured i'd toss this out there. Way rather have a maggot here to work with than some random dueche thx 4 reading and good luck if you apply!

    Reevaluation tomorrow.

I'd be shocked, but it's pretty fat for Killington.

Methinks it depends on if Solitude is planning on expanding terrain and/or Brighton opening. If the only skiing on the Wasatch front is Link at Soli and Mambo-Meadow-Corkscrew at Alta, then it'll be too crowded at the Zoo.
