The report I've gotten is that even though you can do it on a bigger bike, you just don't have the pop you need to flow a lot of the stuff. It's made for dj'ers.

I didn't ride, due to still being on crutches, but it appeared that a significant number of people were barely short on some of the gaps on some of the lines. Maybe those transitions will be better when things burn in and the lines get smoother, maybe it was just the hoard or average riders out on opening day... hard to say.

I'd think you'd want the DJ bike to maximize your pop as LaBelle mentioned... however, I'm sure that if you're skilled you could get by on a free ride bike.

Additionally, the "Small" and "Medium" lines are akin to stuff you'd find on trails... in other words... less skilled riders can use them to improve on and more skilled riders can rally 'em. I'd say a 7" bike would be fun in those areas.

This park makes having a DJ or 4x bike in the quiver a bit easier.

I rode the small and medium lines today on a Yeti 303 and they were a lot of fun even on a big bike. The large line looks like fun too, I'm just ramping up slowly since my wrist is still broken.

God, that place looks awful, and I feel sorry for all you poor bastards who are stuck with such a shitty place in your town. It must be terrible having a FREE place to go and ride bikes. And the scenery sucks too. #whythefuckdidileaveboulder?

Because Boulder sucks and is filled with douchbag poseur wannabes and the riding here sucks and it's expensive and everythingabouttheplacesuckssostayaway.

Finally had a chance to go yesterday. It's the perfect place to go if you like being shown up by 10 year olds (god I suck at dirt jumps). Spent most of my time on the pump tracks, also tried the slopestyle course (just medium) and the glades area. Will def be going back.

I got a chance to check 'er out on Sat. as well. It's as good as the pics and videos have lead us all to believe. I think they could stand to chill out a bit with the sprinkler system though. Not to pick nits but there was standing water and big ol' mud slicks in a few places. Water aint cheap in these parts either. Otherwise, my only thought while I was there was, "I can't believe I didn't have to pay for a ticket to get in here."

Yeah the watering is def an issue, esp on the dirt jump section. I saw 2 people fall on their faces pushing bikes back up to the start area. Slick mud+skate shoes is a bad combo.

Are they intentionally watering the dirt, or is the dirt getting wet as they water vegetation? Given the new vegetation, I could see "over-watering" now to make sure that the vegetation takes hold.

I would assume they are explictly watering the dirt, but haven't been yet. Might be up there Wednesday trying to sell my DHR.

Definitely watering the dirt. Although well intentioned and much appreciated, they could dial it back a bit.

    Bump

Going to be in Westminster Monday through Saturday next week and debating bringing my MTB down. Looks like it could be a fun spot in the late afternoon after work. Google tells me its about a 20min drive (@ 8pm on a Sunday), so maybe it's double that midweek, idk? Is it crowded AF between 3pm-dark?

Can anybody school me on this place?

If we get any weather it would be worth confirming the park is open to ride. Otherwise maybe 20-30 minute commute and a fun bike park.
Shouldn't be too crowded on a Monday in November.
If you're just after big dirt jumps, Barnum Park to the south is rad (and big) as an alternative.
