WTB: Early to Mid 90s Mountain Bikes

I'm on the lookout for early to mid 90s mountain bikes in largely original condition. Larger frame sizes. Higher specs preferred (XT, XTR).

I have a soft spot for Cannondales and would love to find an original F1000 from 1995 or 1996. Bonus if it's the original polished finish.

    Also on the lookout for:
    Barracuda - A2X, A2T, Comp, XX Team
    Klein - Adroit, Attitude
GT - Zaskar LE, LTS, RTS
Schwinn - Any of the Homegrown line
Dean - Any of the full suspension bikes
    Tioga - tension discs
    Spinergy - Rev wheels

Had both an F700 Cannondale headstock and a bright red Schwinn Homegrown hardtail at one point when I was a shop rat around 94-96. Good luck with the search !

Nice! I still have the F700 I bought new in 1995. That's the origin of the fandom. The Homegrowns are such cool bikes.

EWG, that thing looks rad. There were not any Rocky Mountain dealers in my area so I had to admire in magazines.

Nice. The highly varied attempts to figure out what worked and what didn't is part of what makes this era great. Marin Manitou, anyone?

I have a 1997 Diamond Back Racing V link Pro. It was Steve Romeo's, for you Teton AT followers Bitd.

Hanging in the rafters. Tuned up by Rideit a coupla years ago.

Carbon frame with xt/xtr and a cane creek shock, maybe a marzocchi up front. Looks like this one...

Pics! Another brand I didn't get to see in person at the time. Same for Ironhorse.

Nice. Any idea if Diamondback actually built the frame?

No idea, really, but I'd think yes as it's pretty early in their full blown mtb production. Maybe 1993 at the earliest. BMX prior.

This is in my storage locker. Will bring it back out in 2035 for the local show and shine. Newer than the 90s vintage but was my dream bike when I bought it.

Helluva component spec on that. They were rocket ships. Also they kinda steered like rocket ships.

I've got 94' Yo Eddy in the green-blue fade with the original fork. The frame definitely has some dings and it's medium size, or maybe even small/medium. I thought about building it out for my daughters but they are already almost too tall for it. I may still have the original Cook Brothers cranks laying around somewhere too.

If I lived anywhere near town I'd build that up in a second as a townie/rio grande bike.

I can't remember where I got this fork, but I've had it a while. it still holds air well, damping is smooth, and it's 1" threaded. Everything you could want in a vintage suspension fork.

I think the handlebars are half the width of what we would ride currently

I was stoked to have the race face cranks on there - always lusted over them. I lost some of my innocence when the carbon fiber stickers started to peel off.

I had one of those old Amps. Loved it. Frame cracked at the head tube. I had a couple of those a.p.linkage forks as well, and other than needing frequent pivot rebuilds, I really liked them.

Interesting, I just finished a job where the owner was moving stuff out of storage and he too has an Ibis Szazbo in olive drab green.

Thot about offering him some work in trade...

It’s a cushy ride, especially when you just want to sit down and pedal over stuff.
