Yeah, I looked at that shackle and wondered how long before it wore thru from dragging on crappy roads - and then thought “that ain’t going off the pavement”.

The American flag attached to the hi-lift jack is a nice touch. As is the Raiders vanity license plate.

Guessing he bought that front bumper/mad max brushbar setup as a kit, and didn’t have money left over for a winch.

Totally agree this is a likely finalist - only missing bike rack, ski rack, kayak saddle, hi gain antenna and rod vault to have the full Monty of GOTOS. But I wonder where he could affix it all…

Would love to see the driver. Is it deer season in NV?

    I haz questions:
    - what’s in the blue rotopax? Agave syrup?
    - what’s that four-wheeled thing next to the blue rotopax? E-skateboard?
    - is there something attached to the head of that handle below the shovel?

El Chup called it - looks like a floor jack. Combined with a high lift really raises the bar.

Yeah, it's an off-road specific floor jack with the big wheels.

...and, if the truck ever sees anything other than sunny pavement, is quickly going to have a very thick layer of road grime in and on it.

Shopping TR that I chuckled at, and which confirmed most of the comments in this thread. My lovely wife has a jeep GC trailhawk which sees dirt a good amount. We took it on White Rim recently and some recent reports from friends said there was a ton of sand so we should bring traction boards. (we borrowed some and of course didn't need them.) But before I borrowed some I did some quick shopping. Reading reviews is hilarious. I'm not at all exaggerating when I say that more than half the reviews are about how they look on the rig and how the color has held up to UV light from being on the truck year round. There were almost no reviews on amazon about performance.

Also, who the fuck would leave stuff like high lifts, gas and traction boards on their vehicle 24/7 to break down from the sun and weather? Do you not have a garage or a storage shed or a closet? What's the equivalent for a person? 24/7 backpack? Wearing crampons year round? Gloves at all times? It's just so weird.

Also, all these trucks are so clean. Do you know how hard it is to wash a truck with all that shit on it? That's a serious commitment.

The aptly named "Gorpcore" trend that emerged in the late 2010s, still impactful today with the TNF streetwear thing, Gucci x TNF, Arcteryx brand hype, etc etc

I think there's a GMC Sierra 2500 under all that stuff.

Re: rear sway bar - my guess is it was added in order to help stabilize all the body roll induced by mounting all that crap high up.

Exactly. The reviews that don’t even mention the intended use…Spending $$$ on to fit in…the spotless unused accessories or the neglected sun faded rooftop tents that stay on year round…

We all know 75% of these people couldn’t change a flat let alone rig a recovery.

    It’s absurd.

GOTOS were plentiful at Harts Pass in N. Central WA this weekend. Funny to see a group of them bombing up and down dusty gravel roads in a tight formation like a military convoy. Sorry, no photos but I did spy a Fiskars axe strapped to the hood of one that was parked next to a Prius at a trailhead. Yeah, overlanding!

Ah, okay. It's hard to get a sense of scale with all that shit on it, guess it's slightly less insane to put a 5th wheel on that, but I really thought it was a compact truck.

Well done finding the GOTOS Spirit Animal -- the GSA lives!!

D’oh - missed that in the narrative.
Maybe he’s trying for the off-road vehicle recovery and catering look…

This might have given Chup’s nominee a run for the money if I could have gotten a few more pictures, they had all the shit, and still needed a trailer

I vaguely remember the mfger of that over-hood bull bar getting crucified on social media when the product came out. At first glance it seems perfect for driving through a crowd of zombies during the Apocalypse, but then you realize it gives the zombies an excellent hand-hold to avoid getting run over & underneath your truck. So the practicality goes out the window.

Btw that Hi Lift with Flag really is *chef’s kiss*. Excellent work Chup.

His suspension is already running low in the back. That's gonna go well on a real offroad trail.

Paddles but no kayak or paddleboard. So what are the paddles for? Thoughts? I'd say stirring the mayo but he doesn't have any condiment containers showing...

He doesn't want to be caught up the creek without.
