I thought this was worth a google. Would you look at that, fuckers make tiny hurricanes and the low pressure is what gives them lift.
What a planet we live on.

Hmm. Could bees be responsible for the hurricane forced winds that destroyed Lahaina?

Was on a river trip in Idaho in mid August and can say I've never seen so many yellowjackets around food, particularly meat. Couldn't believe no one in our group got stung.
There's an e-trend of people videoing themselves exterminating yellowjacket nests with a cup of gasoline. Could maybe put a bit of gas inside a shop vac and suck them up for larger nests?
good bees
I kept bees for years; I only caught one swarm. Walking my yard one eve and there they were, like this video but fewer bees. I slowly started taking hand-fulls and putting them in a paper bag. As soon as I got a hand-full with the queen in it into the bag, the rest of the workers in the bag immediately began fanning their wings upwards to attract the main swarm. Before long, the bulk of them were in the bag, which I then put in an empty hive. Viola, a new hive for me. Very cool experience.
Honey bees are gentle as hell, unless you disturb them.
Must be one stinky fucker
Oh yeah, pro tip:
Dawn dish soap and water works about the same as raid on these things. I use about 1/4 cup of soap/gallon of water in a pump sprayer. The only downside is that it doesn't foam up as much as the aerosol stuff, so you need to be accurate and quick, and a maybe a little closer. If you need reassurance just check YouTube--it works very well and has to be more environmentally friendly than raid.
Any oxymoron being enviro friendly when killing a bunch of wasps. If I had a tiny nuclear bomb handy, I'd use it on them.
I was being nice and left the Yellowjacket nest in my backyard retaining wall alone for 2 months, they didn’t bother me or sting anyone. Then they started excavating the paving sand and gravel out from the foundation of my wall and ripped out my weed barrier paper. I actually couldn’t believe they were able to do that. Stinging my daughter was the final straw. Nuked them all to hell
They're incredibly destructive. They chewed (or burrowed?) through concrete and brick. Drywall too.
Spent 10 days in Seabeck this summer and those bastards were everywhere and definitely aggressive. Barely any Yellowjackets here thankfully.
I'm loosing a battle in a tricky spot. Worse then caddyshack, kind of. More of an experiment at this point.
Our schools recently started conservation mowing where they only mow the perimeters and pathways. They’re also going to spread wildflower seeds in the unmowed areas this Fall. This is something I’ve been trying to get away with at the house for years but didn’t have a fancy name like “conservation mowing” to convince the wife.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.
From what I've heard they won't build a nest if other wasps have built there so how about leaving a paper wasp nest after you nuke them ?
Lee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know
Bees are cool in general and I've been wanting to get some hives for awhile, but I've watched some videos of guys eliminating Africanized colonies in Arizona and those fuckers are no joke.
What happened to that impending swarm of African killer bees we heard about as kids?
I don’t think it ever made it to me; only Killa Bees I got was some dope ass Wu Tang.
I still call it The Jake.
