    My Car Stinks. Bad. Help.

I did a dumb thing. So fire away. I left two big packages of chicken thighs in the car for 5 days in hot weather whilst I was a-boating. They didn't explode somehow, so no juices in fabric, but it fuckin' stinks.

Reddit and research suggested several days with opened packages of charcoal and baking soda changed daily. That's been done. Still pretty bad, but maybe a little better. Still a ways to go.

    Anyone? Anything? Bobby Stainless? Fuck.

Put the chicken back in the car for another five days?

    Sell it to Montucky?

Take off, nuke the whole site from orbit - it's the only way to be sure.

You can rent an ozone generator and then just run it with the windows up and the AC blower on high for a few minutes with the ozone at full blast

    Oft.

I have an ozone generator you can borrow. Works great on wet dog and/or tobacco smells.

    Not tested on putrid poultry.

Yeah, Seinfeld time. Leave the keys in it parked downtown.

Second for the ozone generator. I bought a car with some serious dog funk and tried EVERYTHING and finally sourced an ozone generator on Amazon and it worked a minor miracle. If you were in PDX I would gladly let you use it.

Ozone generator. Run for at least an hour or two. Repeat as necessary. Run the AC for a time period but you shouldn’t need to do it all the time.

Those ozone machines are $75. Sounds like it would be well worth it.

Straight diesel should get that out. If it's still bad, add fire.

We used coffee grounds once to get the smell of some spilt gasoline out of a previous vehicle. Worked wonders.

If you go the ozone route, keep in mind that it degrades plastics. I'd use it 10-15 minutes at a time. I used it to take the stank out of an old tent. Highly recommend.
