Haven't played since 7th grade but moved two years ago from AK to rural MT and live on a golf course, so.....kid just started and played on the 6th grade school team with rapid improvement. Glad I saved golf for my old age, kinda fun, but I suck.

    Accidentally eagled yesterday.
Short par 4. Listed at 279 yds.
Hit a decent drive but kicked left to the other side
of the cart path into some scrubby short ruff.
~75 yds to the pin with overhanging branches in the way.
Choice is to try a low liner or try to go up and over. I choose the latter.
I take a big swing to try and hit it as high as I can.
Ball hits a branch and careens with speed at the green which is
elevated from where I am. Praying that the ball held the green and didn't roll
off the other side I run up. No ball in sight. F*ck! I start looking off the other side.
My buddy starts to laugh - "it's in the cup".

Going 37 43 today was so damn frustrating but all I want to do is go back out there and do it again.

    Hudson National was beautiful yesterday.
Upside, 5 pars and 1 birdie.
Downside, 1 quadruple, 2 triples and, 2 doubles.
    91 with handful of blowups.

Practice makes better. Shot 91 a week ago, 83 yesterday on same course.

I’m going to have some Mizuno iron heads avail. All in great shape. Some bag chatter.

    MP20 MMC 5-7

    MP20 HMB 5

Forged clubs. So simply bend to spec and put in shaft you like. Would’ve been about $200/club new. Can end up with a set for about 1/3-1/2 that cost depending on what you like.

PM me for details, photos, etc.

    Fore! Who's playing golf, yo-

Went to PGA Championship Sunday at Oak Hill. The course is a work of art after the redesign. I've spent some time on the course before and it's always been unbelievable. It's on another planet now.

Check out this Sunday pin from hell on 2

X Man almost hit me on 14. I sat for a while next to the infamous fairway bunker on 16 that Conners and Hovland had problems with and almost got hit about a dozen times. Rory had the longest ball of the day I saw at 16...340 and it rolled out a foot. That boy POUNDS it.

Followed DJ and Spieth for a few holes. I had always heard DJ was a fast player but I had no idea...he's FAST. Just pulls a club and hits it immediately then he's halfway to the hole before you can blink. This is on the hardest hole all week, 6. He had 200 in and had do draw around a tree with strong breeze pushing right...stepped up and hit to 10 ft. I always think of DJ as like 6-4 for some reason...he's not very tall. Finau however....tall as F

Followed Block and Rory from 16 to 18. Block hit the hole in one on 15 when I was on 16. You could probably hear the roar in Toronto...insane. Got a great view of Koepka and Hovland approaches into 18 to cap off an amazing day. They need to get Oak Hill on the tour more often...the course really shined.

Yeah, your swing is looking great! At least from what is shown in those pictures. With a swing like that, you should be scoring in the low 80s on a regular basis, and in the 70’s some times. Time to work on your short game, or maybe course management?

I finally broke down and started lessons again, myself. I’m kicking myself for not doing it earlier.

    My problem is blowups.
I’ll shoot low 80’s on good days and go over 100 on bad days.
At 16.1 index, my gap is way too big.
I need to illuminate doubles and triples.

    I am tournament high.
I had so much fun playing under pressure and making new friends.
Tournament settings are hard and I did not play as well as I supposed to, but who cares.
I had such a great day!!!

    1-5 were single handicappers.
At least I shoulda come in 6th…

I can identify with that. I’m not the one to offer advice, but have you read Bob Rotella’s books on the mental part of the game? I found it helpful years ago when I was playing my best (although it was never all that good).

Another thought would be to see if your pro can give you a playing lesson.

7 on a par gotta hava a story Choi.

Heres mine. Played a nice new course today and put two in the water off the tee on a 140 par 3. Took a drop and chipped sideways into the water. Went to the cart and cracked open a beer.

I think the Bob Rotella books are helpful to understand that your body will do what your mind (subconscious) thinks it can do

If your mind thinks you’re going to shoot 85 and you’re heading to a 75, your subconscious will mess you up.

If you think you should shoot 85 and you’re headed for 95, it will make you play better

The way around it is to practice and actually get better so your mind adjusts with the real confidence gained

Books are valuable, I've read many of them, but a pre and post shot routine is essential to re-focusing before every shot. Playing for money is a great substitute for tx play.

Just played in a 3-day tournament and I do not think I am cut out for "true" tournament play. Decent start then got in SIGNIFICANT tree trouble on the 5th, a par 5. Had about 18" for double and I missed it, then immediately missed the comebacker which I didn't think about at all and finished with a quad. And then the real problems started.

But seriously...fuck...multiple days in a row of hitting every single cup and never being saved by net double is fucking exhausting.
