    Cleveland is the city.

Then again, April 8 you will be able to catch the eclipse, a Cavs playoff game and Guards game that gets cancelled due to 11” of snow.

    Enjoy.

Didn't have to go far for the 2017 full eclipse so I gave it a shot and went in with low expectations. I was blown away, it was cool as fuck. Being with a bunch of people would be lame, tho.

I went way up into the mountains outside of Baker City, Oregon and perched on a ridge. Watched the shadow front rolling across the land at a thousand mph, then it got DARK. And cold. And the birds stopped chirping and the crickets fired up and it was eerie and just cool as fuck.

When we lived in Santa Cruz, we had a membership at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and visited quite a bit. Why? I've spent a lot of time near, on and under the ocean and have been fortunate enough to see many times what they feature in their exhibits. But the reactions of the kids and adults at seeing these natural wonders close up, many for the first time in their lives, made the trips worthwhile and always gave me some hope for the future of our species.

People like BF though, they're miserable mistakes and deserve the unending pain of their internal poison.

I already received an email promotion from the Trapp Family Lodge for a weekend package.

Maybe they will have a special yoga session that includes perineum eclipse exposure. You know, exposing an asshole to the filtered sunlight.

    Kinda looks like this!

We went with some good friends to their hometown of Riverton, WY. Drove out to a high point in BFE with an unobstructed 360 degree view. We had a big group of folks that mostly knew each other. It was such a cool experience that we will remember forever. Watching the shadows roll across the sage was wild.

Yep - it was really quite amazing. Enough so that I'll travel to see another. Absolutely stunning to experience.

I can totally see why ancient man may have gone a bit nuts thinking it was end-days when they experienced one of these.

So, yes, you'll take a room in Piedras Negras? A bed in the mini-split room is extra. Let me know.

Great Lakes Brewing Company in Ohio City makes fantastic beer, and being April and likely still in fish fry season I'd shoot for any place that does fresh perch or walleye to go with that beer. For viewing I'd do the Hilton downtown on the lakefront with their rooftop balcony. It would be sweet to see the shadow go rushing over Lake Erie like an alien invasion was coming. Views halfway to Canada if the sky is clear.

Happens every go-round. People who think that going to considerable effort, spending several days traveling and spending a fair amount of money, plus grappling with unusual constraints on travel logistics, isn't worth it for a few minutes of visual novelty... they think they're the bold contrarians.

Yawn, thanks for the insight that I could have gotten by walking up to just about anyone getting out of their vehicle in an average strip mall. We hear you. Legitimate opinion. Go away now.

Where do I find a good map with times in totality? The one I found is not detailed enough, but it looks like the line goes through Milton or Georgia, VT.

And up in the left corner is a green button that has past and future eclipse paths.

Great. Now I'm hungry for a walleye fish fry.

Dollar General parking lot in Richford, VT is the place to be. Me, I'm gonna plan on being home because it's damn close enough.

NASA has a viewing and totality path details and showing the path. Many other sites, like Eclipse2024 dot org (but it is NOT an non-profit organization just so you know), Nationaleclipse dot com, greatamericaneclipse dot com also...

Could be wrong, but I think there’s a world of difference between close enough and in the totality.

Agreed. Not even close. Full monty is (at least was for me) simply mind-blowing, and I've experienced a couple partials to compare them to. It's worth your time and $$ to travel and experience it.
