I wear size 12 and adidas randomly had a bunch of larger sizes pop up heavily discounted on their website. I actually paid $45 for the Impacts and $40 for a pair of Freeriders, mixed the two prices up.

$80 still a good price, especially if you don’t have a big foot and need the more common sizes.

Nice! What bike are you using for the lifts?

Scott Genius. Our stuff is pretty smooth & flowy, and I'm too old & brokedown to justify getting another DH sled.

    Genius is 150mm?

I don’t really need a dh bike either, a modern enduro bike is plenty of bike. I just love how planted the big bikes are. The way things are going financially for me, I probably won’t get a sled for this season.. unless I can find something cheap and mint for around $1000, like an older barely used Glory from 2016 or so

Ah yeah that would explain things. I wear 9.5, right in the middle of the bell curve.

Ordered some GRX 31/48 cranks. That with an 11/42 cassette should give me all of the 'groad' range I could ever need, I think.

Thinking about getting an e-bike for the wife. Hoping maybe it will get her into the sport but if not we can ride around town together. The thing is we are both tall. If I was to get her a nice e-bike I could probably ride it too although they are banned on the trails here.

The shop nearby has a new specialized levo comp carbon in s5 for $5500 otd. Probably slightly too big for her at 5’11”. Should I pull the trigger or get something like the tero for more town oriented riding.

You don't want to put a 5'11" beginner wife on an s5. Especially for a 50+ lb ebike.

Even for around town and light double track? My xl Rocky Mountain feels tiny.

Even more so if it's just around town and light double track. Big bikes lend themselves to aggressive riding and stability at speed. Small bikes lend themselves to comfort and maneuverability. Ebikes are already massive boats - you don't really need extra stability. And you certainly don't need an aggressive posture for riding around town.

Edit: for reference, the local specialized shop owner is a bit over 6' and a very competent rider. He's on an s4 levo. I'm a smidge under 5'10" and ride an s3 levo.

Awesome, thanks for the advice. They have aluminum levo comps for the same price in smaller sizes. It’s just a lot of bike.

    I wouldn't sweat the aluminum / weight.

The difference between a 26 lb bike and a 30lb bike is noticeable. The difference between a 50lb bike and a 54 lb bike... much less so.

I just got Boissal's old 2020 Orbea Occam! I've still got some tinkering to do with the suspension setup and the bars but I'm and friggen pumped! It's a nice upgrade from a 2014 Banshee Spitfire.

from what i have seen even in the town oriented riding one will be into it and one is not and if yer town bans mopeds on the trails no point in getting real mtn bikes so just go for a townie bike

The fact that you were on the trail less than 2 hours after I got delivery confirmation made me happy! I'm glad the bike is getting a good 2nd life with someone who will actually ride it, it's such an awesome steed!

Working on a new Revel Ranger for a client.
It’s pretty and has s that fancy new SRAM Transmission.
They changes sponsors, now with SRAM and WTB.
So some new tires/sealant to try out, and servicing RockShox and SRAM parts.

    What have you bought/upgraded today.

Ended up buying a giant explore for the wife after trying a bunch of bikes in town. I really liked the specialized tero x but she was not a fan.

E-bikes are so much fun. I was able to pull off 1k vert in about 1/4th the time on my mtb but the bike doesn’t handle single track too well. The giant seemed way smoother and quieter than other bikes we tested.

QBP has sram g2 ultimate brakes at a crazy good discount so bought some to replace my XTR's. Have always loved shimano brakes, but sick of the wandering bite point on a lot of the current shimano 4 pistons. I had some g2 ultimates on my last bike and was actually quite impressed by them.

NBD!!! Admittedly tried building myself but ran into too many roadblocks…so our 13 year Canadian Team mechanic made short work of putting it together.

After coming off slacker all-road geometry and now back to more race like geo…I’m only more convinced that most people including myself would be better off with a slacker head tube angle but maintain shorter stack.

50mm wheels feel awesome, however so far I’m currently missing the more tactile feedback at the shifters.

Smarter idea buying a real mtn bike ^^ than one of those bikes made of chinesium IME/IMO

I won one of those in a draw to support a commuter trail but i only had it for about 3 hrs before i flogged it for a really good price

I put the $$$$ towards a full on mtn bike
