Just out of view is the big pile of snow closing the road above.

Can’t ski, so I’m logging easy miles with the dogs.

Took a long awaited trip down to Pisgah NF to ride with a good buddy down there. Got the 4 Day Royal Sampler Tour: Bent Cr/Mills Cr, Kitsuma, Brevard and Wilson Cr. After 30 years of primarily riding CO/UT and pints west, it was sweet to ride in some budding springtime hardwood forest.

    That does look amazing.

The desert south west is shockingly green right now but not quite like that.

I think the Pisgah NF gets more rain every year than the Willamette NF! I only had 2 days to ride when I was there for a wedding 4 years ago, but I enjoyed DuPont and Black Mountain … also thoroughly enjoyed hitting beer Disneyland and how it was 2 mins from the airport! They really need an airport shuttle!

More Pisgah porn!! I’ve never ridden in the East, but that’s a spot that looks pretty damn neat I’d like to pedal one day. Especially with that neon green right now! We’re a month or so out from real riding here in SW MT

Sweet, thanks for the Pisgah photos. I'm going to visit my brother in law there in July and do 3 days of riding there. I'm guessing it will be hot as balls in July, but that just means early starts.

Hot - and I think really wet. The summer rains are super legit there. I went in mid August and got super drenched, had to go to a laundromat in Brevard to wash and dry my clothes and shoes for the next day, except that town shuts down hella early so I had to finish drying my shoes on top of the hotel air conditioner!

Yeah, it’s 7mi out and back to the Rim Rock switchbacks, which works for a quick afternoon ride. Just need a small water bottle and the flat kit is always on the bike.

Missoula, for the locals, I found snow right at Franklin Bridge. Prior patches on that route were rideable. Lots of snow on the road at 4300ft. 80s this weekend, should get plenty of melting.
