If they really wanted to solve the problem, they would fund an express shuttle from the marina or factory stores or something.

BTW have you guys heard what they are paying Summit Stage drivers these days? $30+ per hour with full benefits. That's crazy, I hope it works for em.

Party bus? Like with stripper poles, cooler and hibachi storage? Buses work great for people willing to ride them. I the case of Abasin, aren't the majority of the skiers driving over Loveland from the city?

I left The Jane about 5pm yesterday. There were about 10 cars spread through the lots. That place flips the switch and mellow becomes the new norm. I love it. Ski season just hangs around for those that want it.

I liked the snow conditions Saturday well enough. Firm but very edgeable - felt wintry still especially in the Beavers and off Pali. Cloud cover was unfortunate and the parking situation appeared heinous although we rolled up 8:20ish and got a decent spot in the first upper lot.

Mary Jane Sunday was crazy empty though in comparison and conditions were much more springlike. Great slush bumps, railable groomers, and warm temps mostly. Don't think it would've skied nearly as well as A Basin did if it was cloudy though.

Basin was pretty uncrowded yesterday, especially on the slopes. Skiing was phenomenal. Gonna try to hit it again this afternoon if I can rally through some work stuff this am instead of fucking off on the internet. Doh!

Yeah, I hiked vertical cornice and 2nd notch yesterday. Both were fine and chalky. Lower down was knee-blowing sticky slush, even on the steeps like Gauthier I was struggling to turn. Snow just needs to be recycled a few times and it'll be super fun slush. Beautiful days lately. Hard to work much haha.

I'm really looking forward to some A Basin steeps this spring. Its been decades since my full dirtbag camp, in the parking lot, call the boss every few days on the pay phone to see if it time to go to work, Spring Pass day.

Now I'm probably limited to bringing my Ikon over on the weekends. Too bad I can't take the bus. [/And isn't it ironic... don't you think]

In a word, poor. Cold, no sun, so all that slush was way frozen and stayed that way - at least till mid day when we bailed with no sun or warm up in sight. Wall and SGs 2-4 (I heard) were open but didn’t venture to either. Needs to get back to sunny moderate temp days and below freezing nights, not 50s and 0s.

I’m worried how fast the base is going to melt there, once it really warms up. Pretty poor season on the divide given how good the West got it.

How are things likely to be skiing this weekend? I'll be out there meeting up with some old buddies, not sure what ski to bring from the quiver...I'm too used to the cascade concrete these days...I don't even remember what the sun feels like.

East wall still skiing good. Gullies were getting thin. Taking a week off to go to the desert so it'll probably all be gone when I get back. Meh.

Basin days are the best, even if it’s dust on crust.

Some decent north facing snow out there but you reaaaally have to search for it. Click image for larger version.
