Nice work. Heading to hyak today with the little assuming there is parking. Blue coat and vest with an orange helmet. Say hi

Hey! Looking for some info from people who know Alpy way better than me. Riding up chair 2 this weekend, I was fascinated by the wall above powder bowl. Looks like there's some super spicy spine lines straight out of Alaska, and it got me wondering if anyone has skied them? Are there names for any of the lines up there, and are they even possible to access them? Looking at Caltopo, the backside looks just as steep, but I haven't gotten any eyes on it!

That’s a no-no during the season, lots of loaded snowpack to release onto an inbounds run.

I did see some lines up there a few weeks ago so it’s doable.

My first day ever at Alpental there were two guys climbing the far lookers left peak when looking at Powder Bowl. They skied it down into Chair 2. I thought people got rad up there all the time. Haha. I've never seen anyone or any tracks up there other than that day but I look and daydream every time I head up 2 (and you can see).

Yea. There were tracks there too a few weeks back.

Heard some patrollers were partially buried in powder bowl once by someone skiing up there.

I ski solo so always riding chair 2 with randoms, I’m like the old lady on the stoop with all the neighborhood gossip.

Sick, sick day. 2 loaded @ ~9:45... Those who skied the lower mountain probably made the right call, the line at Armstrong was short and there wasn't much of a line at 2 either. BUT... First untracked lap over rollen down the fan was memorable for all the right reasons. adrenaline-->elevator gate and down gunbarrel. Shot 6. Then nash gate popped... the glory.

After lunch I did something stupid... I got in to unfamiliar terrain off of draft dodger ridge. I think in the unicorn zone. I ended up above something that looked pretty committing, got scurred, tucked my tail, and started booting out. I made it about 3 waist-deep steps before SVS swooped in from above and bailed me the fukk out. Told me to put my skis on a follow him. Thank you--You're a rad skier and a great human.

It was glorious and I didn't even get there until the second shift. Yeah, The impossible uphill waist deep boot pack is inevitable at some point. I'm always over cautious just to avoid it.

Both SVS and I got some Annie action today.

****/**** day today on the Buster scale. Hat trick of sun, good right side up pow, and ski on ch2 for second half of the day.

Plus got to make several laps with a longtime loc who despite many a lot4 beer conversations I’d never actually shared a chair nor turn.

Afterglow of a day well spent still resonating….

    Some stoke

I sure picked the wrong year to tear an ACL.

Great pics. I'm happy to see evidence of y'all getting after it. Keep it up.
