Thanks for sharing your struggle. It’s reassuring that all the vaccines and caution were the right thing to do. Come here to share. We’ll listen.

Sending healing vibes xyz. Hope you recover soon.

I read a book by an orthopedist who got a very similar condition due to a viral infection and over exertion while infected. It’s called Run Down by Dr. Michael Gallagher. I think you would enjoy it simply confirming a lot of the same symptoms.

It sucks to be the cautionary tale, but I’ve been screaming at my active friends to really slow down and fully recover from COVID before starting back to harder and bigger efforts. I think endurance athletes have been susceptible to long Covid for this very reason.

I am really sorry you are going through this.

I hope you are aware you’re not alone and are aware of some of the long covid advocacy and support groups and researchers looking for pathologies and treatments. If not, please speak up.

I’m sorry you’re going through that. My only idea is that you need to find a new doctor and describe everything you’ve experienced, all the way through, in excruciating detail. Consider that it might be totally unrelated to your Covid and push for all the tests and scans possible. Hope you get through it soon.

What Danno said. Let it out here, if anywhere, this place gives.

Hoping you heal up and don't give up the fight.

Vibes, and thanks for sharing. It helps others and I’m sure it’s cathartic to share your experience. I’m rooting for you to see through this.

    How old are you?

Wow Mag, that is a crushingly sad tale.

I would encourage you to continue posting up right here.

It may be hard for you to ask for support, but it's really easy for mags to give it.

    Keep fighting to stay positive.

We'll be here to talk to.

Sorry for all you're going through. Have you considered seeing a counselor? Sounds like you are developing agoraphobia to some degree? I won't elaborate, but I had some level of it 15 years ago......

Vibes sent xyz, hang in there.

If I was in your shoes I'd look into microdosing/psilocybin therapy.

Here for you, xyz. And what Mofro said. 200mg once a week could shake off some of the depression*.

Good advice Dr. You are describing symptoms deeper than long COVID.

First, major healing vibes sent your way xyz, but please read below on me expanding on john_b’s idea

Xyz, reading through your post gave me chills and hit way too close to home. A year and a half ago my 15 year old son had many many similarities to your story, in a very similar timeframe to his covid. Major depression, anxiety, suicidal, etc. Almost everything you listed. He was the happiest most energetic kid, super social and active, and it all stopped. My wife pushed for every test under the sun with multiple doctors all over the northeast. Very long story short, it turned out to be not only Lyme disease, but also ehrlichiosis and bartonella. It was a perfect storm off all three of these tick born diseases affecting his neurological, psychological, and physical aspects of his life. After 6 months of super intense antibiotics, he slowly came back around and recovered.

I obviously can’t say this is what you are facing, but the similarities are so uncanny. Not sure where you are in the country or the world, but I’d be happy to point you to a few specialists that eventually figured this out. “Normal” doctors wouldn’t even test or acknowledge the fact that it was something besides covid and long term effects from it.

Like everyone else here said, please keep posting here, talk it out, rant, whatever you feel like saying. This is a pretty cool group of people that are always more than willing to help each other out. Wishing nothing but the best for you. Feel free to message me anytime as well. Best of luck and sending the best of vibes.

For those that want to understand more about current long covid understanding, treatment methods etc., this study/article was commissioned by Nature and published last month https://www.nature.com/articles/s41579-022-00846-2

    Abstract:
“Long COVID is an often debilitating illness that occurs in at least 10% of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infections. More than 200 symptoms have been identified with impacts on multiple organ systems. At least 65 million individuals worldwide are estimated to have long COVID, with cases increasing daily. Biomedical research has made substantial progress in identifying various pathophysiological changes and risk factors and in characterizing the illness; further, similarities with other viral-onset illnesses such as myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome have laid the groundwork for research in the field. In this Review, we explore the current literature and highlight key findings, the overlap with other conditions, the variable onset of symptoms, long COVID in children and the impact of vaccinations. Although these key findings are critical to understanding long COVID, current diagnostic and treatment options are insufficient, and clinical trials must be prioritized that address leading hypotheses. Additionally, to strengthen long COVID research, future studies must account for biases and SARS-CoV-2 testing issues, build on viral-onset research, be inclusive of marginalized populations and meaningfully engage patients throughout the research process.”

echoing what others have said - regardless of what is causing your symptoms you should strongly consider counseling and therapy ASAP - like starting today. This is an emergency and you're gonna need help to get through this and get better. Sending positive healing vibes your way.

Maybe try pineapple? I hear it's good on pizza.

Bad jokes aside, I'd strongly urge you to get counseling, and have doctors further explore causes that might be coincidental to your covid infection. And anything to stay positive (drugs, furious masturbation, etc)

Thank you all for the vibrations. It counts. Somehow writing up my story and the support from all you does feel therapeutic. I feel less alone even though I know I'm not. I've spoken with so many others in the same boat. And I empathize with the others here who mentioned have suffered with similar issues as well. I wish you the best.

I've been seeing various forms of therapy and health coaches. It all helps. I've learnt so much.

The hardest part of dealing with this crash is the regret of setting it off myself. I was given a second chance, got most of my life back but took that blessing, lost patience and reset the clock back to zero. Tough pill to swallow but I've just got to learn and move forward.

I had all the warnings from others. And my body was giving me the physical signs to slow the fuck down, rest. But that's just not how I'm (and likely we are) wired. My body gave me an inch, I took and inch and a half. I read so many recovery stories, especially from athletes who recovered at X months etc so my mindset was I'll be good in X months. But its not so much about the time itself, its about what you do with that time. It was time to go inwards, rest, rejuvenate and heal. Not take the gains and light it on fire with a pow day or a bike ride. I've learnt the lesson now, with hardest lesson of all. Almost losing everything. But I didn't know, noone really does. I was feeling better and just wanted go back to normal. But it was too soon.

All I have now is a proven track record of making a good level recovery last year. I was on my way. Then it snowed.. I just needed a couple more months of chill and I would have been able to sail off into the sunset like the others.

Thank you again for reading and commenting with your support. I will keep you all posted as i progress. And one day you'll see a picture of me back up in high places with a big fucking smile knowing how sweet it truly is to be 'able'.

Thanks. A smile helps. I'll look into some furious maturation while high and eating a pineapple.
