K2 MB 96 C: excellent $530 price point intermediate ski. Light on the foot feel. Has clean edge hold when skied with center to slightly forward stance. Good short to medium radius carving at low to medium speeds or on smooth snow. Doesn’t punish back seat driving in shit snow. Good first ski purchase that allows someone to grow as a skier.

K2 MB 99 - confidence inspiring. Doesn’t really want to do much rather than ski fast down the fall line. Great for advanced skiers who think they are good because they ski fast. Really clean mid tip engagement that follows through the length of the ski. Bigger or stronger skiers can push into tighter turns. Lighter skiers will find it a one trick pony. Tip becomes unglued around 50mph.

Nordica Unleashed Series (98/108/114): playful, want to be skied with a more centered, upright stance and find things to jump off. Prefers medium sized turns to big ones. Still damp and full length edge engagement. Skis get better as they get wider. Generally a really good line for someone who wants more than an ARV/Bentchetler but likes the more centered stance.

Stockli SR 88: yeah they are really fucking good

Blizzard Rustler 9: star of the show. Likely best ski on wall next year. If you like edgier damp skis, this is the one. Did everything really well, no blind spots or gaps in performance. 10/10 buy this ski. (Didn’t ski the 11, but everyone who did echoed it’s a similar overall winner. They are all heavier and more complete tip to tail than the old Rustlers. You do lose a bit of the light swing weight but IMO more than makes up for it. Comfortable making any turn.

Rustler 10: good ski, improved from the old one, but still not the same as the 9 (and likely the 11, everyone I talked to agreed) most folks looking for a low 100s waist width won’t be disappointed by this ski, unless they just skied the…

Armada Declivity 102: surprise of the show. Probably what the Rustler 10 wants to be. Really manages to blur the lines between playful and carving. Load up on it as much as you want, only gets better. Glassy transition in and out of turns. Consumers will likely continue to sleep on the Armada All mountain line up. Very fun ski.
As much as I’ve liked blizzard skis first day out, I’ve found their durability to be absolute shit. I place the blame squarely on the flip core. I’ve owned Brahma, bonafide, and rustler 10s in the past few years and all of them lost their camber within just a few days of skiing, and started to get reverse cambered shortly after.

All my coworkers have experienced the same.

Wow, that is pretty light. Does it say anything about rocker/camber profile?

Unfortunately no pictures in the catalog, but given it’s a dynastar, I bet the profile is pretty on point.

I’m tempted to order the 108s as a winter touring ski.

Do you suppose the rocker profile of the M-Tour's pretty well follows their M-Pro counterparts? We're going to need to hear some field reports on these soon

Based on the mount point in the photo I’d say they’re more of an M-free. I think Sander said on a podcast a while back that he was developing a light ski like this? Might be wrong about that.

I am guessing it is "just" a wider m-tour 99. I specifically asked Sander if a m free tour was in the pipeline, and no dice. Sounds good for a ton of folks regardless, perhaps more so than a superlight m-free 108 that would loose a key component in why it skis so well - weight.

The sidecut dimensions are different from the M-Free 108 (and M-Pro 108), so it looks to be an entirely new shape and not a M-Free 108 with tails lopped off.

I do think you’re missing the main point. They’re fucking RED!

Fuck yeah. Not only does the RED make them go faster on the down, it also burns the snow off the topsheets while skinning so they are faster on the up too.

That mount point on the MTour 108 is intriguing. Definitely, a new shape based on the specs. If they really come out to less than 1500g a ski in a 185ish true size I'd be psyched to try it out.

I just glanced at Wildsnow's take on the new MTN Summit 12: https://www.wildsnow.com/33691/salom...-a-first-look/

Kinda crazy that there is 50mm of heel adjustment on the braked version. Seems like an ridiculous amount and at least a few extra unnecessary grams FWIW.

Coming from a lifetime of sales, this kind of bullshit drives me nuts. Since working part time at a store I haven’t found one Rep that I thought was half decent.
Swix has a pole called the Triac that I broke, my friend’s broke, and we all know others that broke and the rep acted like he didn’t know anything about it. The OR rep is a moron. Nobody returns calls. G3 rep prolly acts like the skins work great, and were always great, or says they “haven’t heard that”.
Well maybe I'm the faggot America

Oof. Replacing aluminum with fiberglass gives me pause. One of the things I like most about my backlands is the simplicity and durability. I don't know enough about fiberglass, but my first response is I don't trust it as much as aluminum.

Same, no idea if my pause is warranted but…..
