If ioc anounces snbd backcountry snowboard event for next olympics.
NS is done as riders need fis points to qualify.

Hey, Sammy— If you’re becoming an event producer, I recommend you have two closures to your contracts. One would be a pay day. The other would be an exit clause.

Don’t forget your exit, homie— for when it rains, and all the solar execs decide that they are going to sell the ski resorts.

PM me for details— if you’re even reading this.

    Thats the quote from newschoolers

"There's rumors going around that Natural Selection is going to add a ski-specific leg of the tour (Sammy C is rumored as well to be in talks and will likely be the face). Different venues, format, judging, etc. T-Ricky has a slew of Jackson VC/PE guys backing this (hence why they released a fucking NFT), and it is the next area of logical expansion is skiing."

I have no clue what that means never heared of t-ricky or jackson vc/pe before.
Nor i heared of a fucking nft before.

    X-games progesses the sport.

    Ioc follows.
Easy build some wood features and landings on a northfacing sand-dune. Snow gun the shit out of it. And the day before the event chemtrails! et voilá! backcountry freeride event in Saudi Arabia

There's an extended version of the interview released today. Lots of detail in there.

    Highlights for me:
    -No changes "this year"
-trying to get into Olympics in 2030 and drug testing for those athletes
-implied that there won't be drug testing "this year"
-FWT team still running the ops for the foreseeable future

All in all I'm willing to give them a chance I guess. But I'm just a guy that watches, not an athlete, sponsor, or anyone with actual skin in the game.

I knew FIS would come in with the drug testing bullshit. If they're going full retard and that includes weed then that's 100% going to keep away some talented skiers / riders.

Yeah, that will definitely remove Tanner. I don't know about a lot of these young skiers though. When I mountain bike with the younger gens these days none of them smoke weed and ride. It's weird to me.

Current FIS rules say no weed during competition (except CBD). Out of competition use is OK.

The bigger issue is probably making sure they're following testing protocols (e.g. updating FIS with whereabouts for out-of-competition testing) and avoiding accidental use of always-prohibited substances (cold medicine, asthma inhalers, etc.). FIS racers are used to this, FWT competitors aren't.

2030 or 2034 mt superior will be a venue, barring absolutely horrible coverage. Mark my words.

I'm a big weed / edibles guy and don't like to mix it with MTB or BC skiing (lift-served, sure). In general I'd say the majority of skiers in their 20's partake at least on occasion, at least in states where it's legal now.

It'll be the end of the high calibre segment of the sport as we know it.

Kicking horse will be challenging to pull off this season given the way the PWL is setting up and the general lack of snow…

Best bet is if they get in there after the New Year and get some skier traffic to mix it up and than let it set up….

NA skiers need to travel to yurp twice now, so that's expensive. But I guess better than canceling the stop.

Was at a fundraiser for Jed this week at the slot bar at Palisades Tahoe. It was funny looking at Ralf Backstroms "giant" check for winning xtream verbier back in 2015, he got $7000. Grand prize is down to $5500 now.

They almost always Ozone open before the comp. Usually very limited, like it so cloudy that nobody can see that its open so only 10-12 people can get two runs in and no one else is the wiser.

It's been a few years since KHo has been this hurting for snow in the alpine; I wouldn't want to compete in these conditions. Even the untouched is still like sugar with rocks not far beneath.

On the positive, my snowshoes and xc skis are actually seeing use this year.
