Snow was unexpectedly deep at Stevens today with no lines.

Ski patrol was throwing bombs all morning and the word on the street is that backside opens tomorrow.

Nice! Jealous...had to work. Their IG feed confirms that the backside will open tomorrow.

Broke in some new boots skinning up East Peak today. If not for multiple seasons turning my athletic tape into a glue/cloth mass that did not work as tape I'd have done more than the one lap, but the hot spots were hot and the supportable crust was very supportable in the worst places, and in the best places the crust was not to be found but the wind blown 6+" were definitely deep.

Thanks for bringing the stoke as always. One of these days I’ll remember to snap some pics when I’m skiing.

Anyone have recos on shops that would be able to fix ski where one edge has a slight bump down?

I live in West Seattle and work in Northgate - so anywhere in the Seattle area I could get to easily…

Mountain To Sound - is in the neighborhood, has anyone had any work done there?

    That’s some masochistic shit.

It will most likely require replacing the edge, base and sidewall around the effected area. Most shops should be able to do it, but the tech might not work every day. Likely $100+ repair.

You might give Seattle Ski a call. They're at 14915 Aurora Avenue North, so pretty close to where you work. My experience with them is limited, but it's been positive and they've been there forever and get lots of business.

There's also ProSki. They had a shop at Aurora and N 90th forever, but looks like they've now moved to Sand Point, east of the U District. Can't say I blame them. The old neighborhood was pretty sketch. They definitely know what they're doing there.

Got a late start heading to Stevens today, left at 930, got there around 1230 with some stormy driving, got two runs in and then they announced they were closing the resort cuz they were closing US2 pass w/ no opening ETA. 6 hours of driving for 2 powder runs off Skyline, yahoo

The stormette delivered this morning at CM, fast laps with free refills and a few face shots in wind loaded areas. Wed/Thurs should be wind buff supreme with a side of frozen mexi-fries.

I... Wouldn't. I'll spare the gory details save for the fact that last time we tried them the wife's DIN came back set to 12...and also 6?

Bummer. Buddy was up early and got some waist deep runs on the backside. Then closed it due to avy concerns. Same with anything up high. Looks like pass is back open. Thinking about sloppy seconds tomorrow.

I'll bet they'll be pretty fresh firsts judging by how things were looking when they closed.

It will be really nice seconds. We were getting some nice refilled tree laps on the front side when they ordered everyone off the hill. The backside was ultra deep - too deep at times! Intermittent face shots with wallowing if you did not choose your line carefully

ProSki North Bend, evo seattle, maybe Ascent Outdoors?

I absolutely would not go to anything else in Seattle (especially not Cripple Creek).

evo’s shop is pretty dialed and they treat you right. They’ve got $$ and overhead to do the right thing if something goes wrong. Lots of jongs in the customer mix tho

I think Ascent knows their shit too. ProSki North Bend is the classic, but it’s far out so I’m never out there. The one in Seattle is same name, different owners and apparently sucks.

Pretty sweet day at baker yesterday. Should have taken pics but it was a little too cold!
