Anyone have a review of the commander tour? Comments have been pretty sparse on them in this thread. Absolutely love my commander 108s.

What was the consensus on Night Trains? From what I can gather from here they were great for deep snow tomfoolery and very one-trick in that regard?

There's a steal of a deal on 2012's in marketplace right now..

What I've found in this thread. Info is amazingly sparse on the interwebs.

I'll have a review for ya soon.

They’re very damp and composed in roughed up snow, like a real ski with metal in them. They’re probably one of the heaviest skis ever with tour in their name, but they definitely inspire confidence. Floatation seemed average for a 104mm ski, and generally good once up to speed.

That’s about all I’ve got for initial impressions after one day out in marginal conditions.

The DWT is a bit lighter, floats better, and is more fun in trees and slower speeds. I bought the Commander Tours for the Banff/Yoho rockies and alpine, but have spent most of my mid winter days in Rogers Pass....great tree skiing or some big vert alpine days that favor the DWT.

I really like the Commanders with 20cm of fresh and a bit of room to play. They're work in deep, heavy snow and tighter trees but perform really well in choppy skied out lines and in the sidecountry around KH on firmer days.

The skis are much stronger than the DWT and I think they're going to be a lot of fun on non-skimo spring days.

I dont think Id use the Cmdr in deeper powder, but that's what the Wildcats are for. I've skied extensively on the Wildcat Tour 108, and the Cmdr is a vastly superior ski in every way (if you are a directional skier). I never got along with the Deathwish, and I think the Wildcat Tour is a much better ski than the 108 version...something changes in the geometry, and I think the shorter turn radius on the 108 isnt as good on firmer snow.

I had some several seasons ago that I have very fond memories with. I remember them being great in powder and still good on anything soft, whether that was groomers or chop. I kind of wish I kept them

I have a pair of 182cm Commander Tours that have seen one day of touring.

My 0.02 is they have a tight radius and are a fairly precise ski with nice tip rocker.

Used to the 190cm Wildcat Tour, of which these are very different.

Got the 182 version to ski tight coolies, but would certainly size up for average bc skiing.

Look forward to putting more feedback into this thread.

I’ve never skied them, but a ski partner of mine has had them since they came out as her quiver of 1 ski. She absolutely rips in all conditions on em. OG moments, squared tips and tails.

I’ve got a day and a half on my cmdr tour 188, things went well in deepish cold pow. I was happy with float even though that’s not what I got them for, I’m planning on a few resort days next weekend to evaluate for firm and variable conditions. They’re definitely not planks, and they feel like they have a tighter turn radius that’s more based on flexing the ski.

I just picked up a pair of last seasons wildcat 108 tour for 600 bucks canadian. I had been hoping for the DWT but couldnt pass up that price. They only had a 190 left though so im sizing up from my 184 skevik anton and 188 g3 sendr. Consensus seems to be that the wildcat skis a bit shorter due to the rocker? Cant wait to get some tech bindings mounted and get these things out there.

You're gonna love em. Way more centre mounted than your g3's, so you'll have less tip. I have both DWT and WCT (184) and compared to my ON3P's, they ski shorter.

I'm 5'8, 160, live in Nelson and ski the Koots and Rockies. Added the DWT last year, and now that I have that for my everyday touring ski, wish my WCT was a 190 for those bigger days. Both skis are pretty similar. DWT more of an allrounder, WCT a bit better in powder, but might be splitting hairs.
