Heard this the other day for the first time in a long time and it's been running through my head so I guess I want to hear it again.

A little seasonal music. Al Kooper with Stephen Stills and Mike Bloomfield.

I recently got hip to this guy; beautiful playing. He died a few years ago; interesting back story.

And thanks for that trip down memory lane…
Just bought Kooper’s memoir “Backstage Passes and Backstabbing Bastards”
RIP Mike Bloomfield - taken too soon by the junk

Little Steven tells a good story about how Kooper ended up playing organ on "Like A Rolling Stone" on pure chutzpah.

Not too long ago I came across this version without horns. I think I like it better.

Heh, reading that part right now. It was a good thing the previous musician hadn’t shut it off - Kooper didn’t know how to turn on a Hammond…and he was playing an eighth behind because he didn’t know the music

It does have a really good sound ^^

It helps that the original's so good. Big Donovan fan.

Sooo good. I'm just saddened by the fact that I hadn't discovered him BEFORE he passed away.

Yep. So much potential evaporated. So we enjoy what crumbs he left.

    A criminally underappreciated band.

Heavy "Go!" recommendation. Saw them in 2019 and again a few weeks ago. Incredible jams. Best jam band goin, IMHO (coming from a guy who saw the Dead in May '77 . . .).

RIP Mimi Parker. Saw Low a couple years ago - great show. She was a real presence.

Can't believe this song's approaching 20 years old already. Popped back into my brain lately out of nowhere and it's been stuck there since. SO catchy...
