I want to know more about the actual events leading up to the moment the gunman was finally killed. We were getting reports that it was the ONE border patrol guy who just said fuck this shit and went in there himself getting shot (graze wound to the head) while killing the fucker... Then they tried to walk that back to a coordinated effort between multiple agencies or whatever bullshit to hide the facts we are looking right at here..

When you tell officers over and over again that they should do whatever you have to do you get home that day. Don’t worry, whatever it is we will have your back. You just do what you need to to make sure you get home to your family.

THIS. Protect and to Serve only applies to the depts these days managing risk to themselves above all else. A significant reason for so many shootings of POC. Because the Supreme Court said risk perception in the mind of the cop makes it justified and everyone knows color = risk

Again, a big part of me doesn't blame them for the NOPE with these weapons and the standard vests not being enough... but they need to own it. They should be screaming with the rest of the victims to get that shit off our streets and out of the hands of Gravy Seals.. Problem is many of them ARE Gravy Seals..

They either need to man up and go up against any legally available weapon, or start loudly advocating to have the weapons/equipment they’re scared of made illegal and removed.

can you imagine a scenario in Iraq/Afghnaistan where a group of 10 soldiers/marines refused to breach a room against a lone combatant with a gun? In this case the officers wouldnt even do that to save classrooms of school children. I wonder if any of the uvalde officers had any combat experience prior to this? Utter dereliction of duty.

Well, I’d say it’s an issue that we need our police to act like soldiers. But if they’re going to role play soldiers in their training, they better act like soldiers when events require them to.

Guy should get fired from being an official coach for that team, agreed. Its U9 travel team baseball and the only focus should be on teaching the game (not the big league game) and getting the kids better through competition. And at this age they are super impressionable so how coaches behave is important (fiery emotion is good, pouting and tantrums are bad).

But, lets not call this assault. The guy gave some pouty hard handshakes, which probably werent very hard its just that he outweighs the kids by 200lbs. The fact he is a cop has nothing to do with this IMO. Its just another example of an adult being an asshole through youth sports- whether its tied to a superiority complex, bringing work stress home, or being narcissistically competitive. We would all hope that cops are the best amongst us... but thats just not the case. Its tough being held to a higher standard on the job while ONLY dealing with the worst of society or good people in crisis, and then when you get off that crazy stressful shift you are still held to a higher standard as a private citizen. I have no idea why a cop would advertise they were a cop on their off-hours.

It just struck me as overthetop ridiculous when i saw the hallway video with the cops having numerous ballistic shields, overwhelming numbers and firepower, a trapped target, and a known number of combatants (a single one) to take on and they did nothing for nearly an hour to save their own communities children from being slaughtered in real time. juxtaposed against the kind of operations that US army and marine units were tasked with daily while clearing places like mosul or fallujah simply because they were ordered to.

Initial reports say Malcom Johnson was being arrested as a suspect in a recent aggravated assault, and that an officer was shot in the struggle before Malcom Johnson was shot and killed by the police. So, unless he never touched a gun, and it was friendly fire that got the one cop, im not sure why this is taking so long to close the case?

They weren't handshakes they were shoves. It's in the video. I'm betting a police officer calls that assault if it happens to them.
