That's what's reported, I'd wager that the majority of CCL/CCW guns that get stolen out of cars are NOT reported.. They're afraid of losing their CCW/CCL so they just go buy another gun and don't report the incident.. There's probably three to four times that many out there thanks to these so called responsible gun owners.

I lived and worked in that area for a decade. If you really believe that more guns (even after a cheesy 4 hour video and a few minutes of range time) will make any part of NYC safer I vehemently disagree with you. All that goes out the window after a couple drinks and something makes someone angry..

I can't speak to the NY safety class...the CO one is a full day with an instructor and you have to pass a written and range test. Then the instructor signs off before you can apply.

Oh yes...the drinking. Anyone caught carrying a gun while blowing above the legal driving limit should immediately lose their CCP for at least 5 years...I would vote 10. But that is also how I feel about drinking and driving...

Gun free "safety zones" are a bit of a joke, but drinking establishments should be off limits for carrying IMHO. You as an individual are choosing to be there....not the same as a young woman living in a bad area getting home after working the late shift.

Have you guys been keeping up with the details on the Uvalde School shooting? It’s almost like it was intentionally made as bad as possible. Set up? I’m not sayin but more things could not possibly have gone wrong. I would really like to know who the shooter was talking to reading online leading up to this. Right down to knowing about an obscure gun manufacturer who produces Exotic AR platform rifles that cost 2X the price of the big guys. A small nitch manufacturer who might not have the resources to mount a legal defense

Don't mind if I do. And I was just funnin. While we all secretly desire an M1A1, the Springfield M1A is also an excellent choice. It's definitely not an assault rifle with a full size barrel., there is nothing light or compact about it. It is however, definitely a military weapon.
