Read that last week; super wild but I love it. I'm fascinated by crazy and/or narcissistic people who stoop to those levels. Rob Young, Mike Rossi and many others like Nick in the running world.

The crazy lady cheating in the Whistler Ironman is a great set of articles (2 of them) from the NYT - if you haven’t you should read those (if you search padded room there is a whole thread I think I started on her)

Sorry if repost, but this one is good, albeit infuriating. Pretty much a microcosm of most of our economy now too. Sigh.

Thanks. If, like I, you haven't really informed yourself about the Boeing 737 Max mess yet, this is a good intro. Late stage capitalism is a real bitch.

A worthwhile read despite the liberties taken.

Justice Alito's Crusade Against A Secular America Isn't Over

    https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2...rica-isnt-over

I used to socially see a young lady whose family lived across from the Alitos. I have run through his yard sprinklers at 4am butt-ass naked on mushrooms and taken more than one bong hit in front of his house. For America, of course.

What liberties? If you didn’t hate Alito before reading this article you will now. His opinions are everything that’s wrong with this country. Angry white man feeling victimized. He’s a dangerous asshole.

Thanks. I can’t find the 12.19 issue in my house, but will grab it when it surfaces.

I enjoyed this article. Includes a lot of descriptions of the challenges and adventures of conducting research in isolated parts of Antarctica https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2...omsday-glacier

This article is bonkers. It’s a great example of why I subscribe to The New Yorker.

Bonkers indeed. And if the nghtmarish world of the illegal minning and crime and corruption and darkness and death was not enough...oh yeah, the waste is radioactive! Good share. Thx

Some fantastic articles in here. Not much to add, but just pointing out the Audm app. All kinds of great long form news articles from the New Yorker, the Atlantic, Vanity Fair, etc... read by some great voices. Perfect for the skintrack, roadtrips, or the other times when reading hardcopies doesn't work.

hard to wrap my head around how crazy that sounds - being underground for that long, people falling for 20 seconds, the whole mafioso economy...it's almost sci-fi in how out of this world it is

Thanks for this. I used to buy the New Yorker weekly in the airport when I was traveling non-stop for work. This article reminded me how good it was and I pulled the trigger on a subscription.

This is pretty amazing. Starts with one genius and wraps toward a discussion of long term dangers possible with technical innovation

    Not very long.

And I was hoping that the clever graphics would continue thru the article. But a good read.
