I would give him a pass if he didn't do the lame pose with one wheel on a boulder thing all the time.

Norseman, where are your condiment jugs?

no condom jugs here. just 12 gal water and cases of beer. and tequila.

didn't even see any gotos'd-out rigs down there in the gnar, just a side by side with 6 children hanging out the doors and mom brapping behind on a dusty old dirt bike, boobs bouncin and hair flyin. a refreshing scene in this modern insta-ho goto-infested west. it kinda confirmed to me that the spotless gotomobiles are indeed still mostly mall crawlers and their drivers would prob shit bricks even on that relatively tame little desert track.

Funny you say that, I was in the swell south just of there in February for a few days and the 1st GOTOS rig I saw was as soon as I hit pavement, I was on I70 merging, and it was without a spot of dirt.

where else did you go around there, Sinbad Petroglyphs or ?

came down Buckhorn and saw the touristy things there

poked out past the river into hellacious winds and turned around in Cane when a legit wave of tumbleweeds broke over the truck

wheeled up a side canyon and found some sheltered hiking and a quiet camp spot

    saw some wild jackasses

wheeled down the aforementioned canyon to see the panels there

and then checked out some stuff on the NE side

You did all that without a single traction plate strapped to the outside? Unpossible!

(great photos, the old truck and the cabin especially)

I had the same thought about the wiring of the fuses over the battery. Underbite or not, there is clean work on that truck.

Looks like a nice trip Norseman. Drove Black Dragon Wash to the petroglyphs and Dino track and up to the wedge in a 99 Mercedes station wagon last year. I did have a roof rack with rocket box and bike racks so some goto to get us through the gnar.

Up to the panels and back out and around, right? Cause if you took a wagon up through the whole BD wash, that deserves a tip of the hat, a brass bawls medal and probably new clutch, lol. For me it was miles of 4Lo and used all the clearance of my *ahem* pickuptruck, with like 15" ledges n shit.

did you sacrifice it at the end?

I spend quite a bit of time in The Swell getting lost on my dirtbike. It does seem like where GOTOS and Vanlife dreams go to die, or at least get fabricated for the web. Last fall I was out there after a gully washer. As I was hanging out getting really for a ride, a couple of well appointed rigs with all the condiments passed by. About an hour later there were three of them stopped where water was running over the road.

I kinda said my pleasantries and then ride though what was about 8" of muddy water on hard rock. A Civic coulda made it. I circled back and let 'em know it should be no problem and then went on my way. On my way back they were all parked in artsy spots just doing what they do. I didn't see a person all day.

NM I was thinking Buckskin Gulch panel which is just well graded dirt roads. I will put BD on the list to see if my Touareg can get there since the shaggen wagon has been handed down to my grommet

The red truck-ballz seem to have been neutered; it’s just an empty scrotum.

Was in Bozeman last week. I believe we may have achieved peak GOTOS. Trend is out of control. I wonder how many of these people who keep their rides weighed down unnecessarily year round along with detrimental aerodynamics, also whine about climate change? I saw a GOTOS'd out Sprinter with a "Protect Our Winters" sticker on Main St. Effing clueless rich asswipes just DO NOT make the connection ever it seems.
