That looks fun. Practical and ridiculous at the same time.

Used to keep a piece of linoleum across the missing back floor on the old 70 144 it allowed backseat passengers to not have to drag feet on pavement- but it wasn’t totally covering holes there was still room to drop your empties …

It looks to be in excellent condition for the body and interior, and very low miles. So it's just the simple matter of baselining fluids and making sure all the electrical and rubber bits are holding up. Should be a snap!

If anything screams "snap!" in the car world it's a 1989 Jag with a V-12 that hasn't ran in 15 years.

I still call it The Jake.

Ha. Looks wise, totally. Having driven a few of them though... meh. They're ok. Driving one a few times was enough to get it out of my system.

Plus, you know the old adage. Better have enough money for 2 of those, as one will always be in the shop. And that was when they were NEW! Haha. Perfect for the spirit of this thread, though. Beautifully unreliable.

914 reminds me: has a Fiero been considered? Maybe too reliable.

If we're gonna wear uniforms, we should all wear somethin' different!

A Fiero with a stupid engine swap would be a good fit. Not the LS that should be in there, but something weird, like a 911 turbo.

Cut the cats off and let that V12 exhale. Double your horsepower instantly.

That's not a "stupid" engine swap for a Fiero.

    This is.

Only in that it's a GM V8, otherwise, not much like a pushrod LS. Northstar engines were DOHC, aluminum, complicated for their era.

They were known to be unreliable - IIRC head gasket failures were on a level that a Subaru owner would find familiar.

Quest for the Least Reliable Vehicle for MontuckyFried

Oh right DOHC etc.. Funny they had to fuck with things. Too bad. My buddy’s folks had an STS and an ETC with north stars and those motors had pull. They didn’t keep them into high miles tho. FWD iirc though, kinda a drag.
