Yea, Mothers Milk was the turning point for me as well. Uplift and FS were the bomb.

Old RHCP was so much better. Kind of like Aerosmith -- once they got clean, they got bad.
SA was an incredibly tedious album.

As for getting clean? they also seriously lost some mojo once they stopped roaming around and doing entire shows with their dicks in tube socks...

BSSM had it's moments ("Sir Psycho Sexy" is one of their best songs ever), but I was unfortunate to hear that damn "Under A Bridge" song like every 5 minutes when it crossed over and became a mainstream hit (the downside of working in radio). Glad the band finally made some coin, but that song was annoying as f@#k.

Only other album after that which I found to have a few solidly memorable cuts was One Hot Minute, the one with Dave Navarro (plus i was a HUGE JA fan, so had to check that out just to see what was what). "Walkabout" is another solid joint as is "Aeroplane". they def make the cut on the Dookey RHCP Burnin' Cocks and Flying Tube Socks mixtape, which i'm compiling soon (at least something good has come of this thread...it's renewed my interest in the RHCP and causing me to go digging through the crates).

Tony Kiedis has the emotional maturity of a 14 year old.
It's not about two lines of the song. It's about his voice, the bass, the backup vocals, the guitar effects, the vibe of the whole song. Not to mention that his lyrics have been slightly non-sensical since the beginning (although most songs do have a real meaning).

    But, to each his own.

To each their own, as I got roughly 6 tracks in and wasn't inspired to continie listening.
Only track that mildly stood out for me was "Poster Child."

The two tracks mentioned in above posts ("Black Summer" and "Not The One") featured some great guitar work from Frusciante, but little else, imho; not to mention that Kiedis' s singing is horrible and sounds autotuned.
Also, what's with the meth mullet and porn stache?

Whole album can be found here:

Pretty sure RHCP doesn't give a fuck if you like their album or not. Just a guess.

The last 2 or 3 albums didn’t wow me right off, but I grew to appreciate them. So I won’t give up on his yet, but just ok after 2 listens. It’s not bad, but not what I like to get listening to the peps.
