"Kristofer Turdell with the save of the century."

    Jack Nichols--
"That is the exact reason this two-run format is so exciting."

"Oh... Leo Slemett pulling off the banger run in this two-run format."

    What's Leo's jacket? I want that collar.

    Ross Tester-- Spitting blood--
Still looking for reasons why the K108 isn't worth selling before being skied.

Maxime on his second set of skis. "I thought he was going to lose it."

Carl-- massive control. massive speed. Does that make him look weak? Really lacking line points, though.
    Wait-- second? Holy shit.

    For the second run--
"They were all excited to do it, but it definitely takes its toll."

Hitzig's pre-release is painful. Because his backflip 3 seconds before that was massive. "But, it's not going to affect is seat. He's still in first."

Moga-- "Don't want to jinx him." "Making it look like the easiest thing in the world." Beautiful line.

    Finn--
Homie is bringing the slopestyle. Beautiful 7.

Gotta say-- the two run format is amazing. More of that please!!!!

Good job, Hitzig. You're blowing me away.

Incredible high level of skiing but I missed somewhat original line choices ala Bimboes or Tabke. They should forbid the Swedes skiing the same lines over and over. It’s not a fookin figure skating.
Hitzig should man up and get himself a Pivot 18 for fook sake.

I forgot to set my fun bet team. But I would've gotten all of my picks wrong anyways, so whatever.

Psyched Hitzig is on the tour. Dude's a beast. Control is approaching Turdell levels, but he goes bigger and throws bigger tricks.

Also, the Bilous genes are really entertaining. Hank was always a blast to watch, and his brother is no different.

Was kinda bummed how much Tester and Bilous got docked for their control issues on their first runs. On one hand, yeah, they bobbled. But they were minor bobbles in shitty snow on an inconsequential part of the run. Tester's first run would've / should've been on the podium if not for his little hip check in the chute. Seems like they took ~15 points off of him, which is a bit excessive. Same for Bilous, although his run wasn't really a podium contender.

    Freeride World Tour

A couple of those crashes were gnarly. Ski men really went for it despite variable conditions. Liked the 2 run format.

    - Bravo, Max! True class.

    - More and more impressed with Carl R-E.

    - Loved Finn B. Incredible skills and different style altogether.

    Great comp- amazing skiing.

However- the conditions really dictated the line...same line being skied over and over....hope for better snow on the “Bec” these guys need to be unleashed without snow quality restrictions! For the finals I want to see the true characteristics and personality of each rider in great snow!

Interesting that Andrew Pollard chose not to do a second run. He just wasn’t feeling it. Wise young man, you’ve got to trust your gut.

Somebody posted Pollard's interview earlier - he said he loved the old school freeskiing world tour format of three days of skiing, with multiple laps on the same face - aka- Superfinal runs - then later in the interview he said he didn't like the idea of two runs at Fieberbrunn and then didn't do a 2nd run at all. A bit contradictory, ha, not that it really matters.

And i doubt anyone was 'feeling it' to do a 2nd run in those conditions.

He was talking about the old IFSA format, which was qualifiers on day 1, semi-finals day 2, and finals day 3. All the IFSA comps I competed in, the venue changed each day but you got on-course inspection.

I wasn't a fan of the two run format, I would rather have twice as many competitors do one run. This comp was kind of boring, especially since all the men skied the same line on the 2nd run.

You didn't really read what i wrote - Superfinals. "with multiple laps on the same face - aka- Superfinal runs"

Conditions were shit. I’ve seen that kid send it in bad conditions. But the conditions for that comp were horrible. His position heading into Verbier wasn’t going to change. In the low pressure podcast he also says that the loser is the one that gets hurt and it’s all about having fun and skiing with your bros.

Allowing a wild card into the event after the cut was bs. Completely ruins the competition for the overall. Max had the best run, but he shouldn’t have been there until next year.

In a way the on face inspection of the old comp format allowed for high level skiing in crappy conditions. The FWT was supposed to be the best in good conditions but it hasn’t really worked out that way.

    Everything he said.

I loved the two-run format, but it was a big sacrifice in having athletes chose between venues. I remember being an athlete in those 3-day events. Every day was different. I don't know if FWT can make a multi-run event occur on different venues.

IFSA 3-Day events were so different. I miss them.

In the end, the comp was boring. They all skied the same line. And then inviting a "foreigner" in on a wild card was kind of insulting.

I hope FWT moves away from this kind of cookie-cutter recipe for world's best.

There is no need for a funnel that shapes the athletes.

    Bec de Rocks!

Whether Hitzig should have been allowed to compete at Fieberbrun is up for debate, but there's no doubt he won. What a run. Ultra-gnar top section and I especially loved his cross-court air at the bottom. That was the best use of the lower part of the venue by far.
