I feel like I just got censored on here already. I just posted something here that wasn't inflammatory at all, just me asking questions, and it wouldn't let my post it, said it was up for review before it posted. Or something like that. Is that possible?

Enjoy it while it lasts! I remember going shopping without a mask exactly ONE time last July before it all got rolled back again.. Knowing what we know about vaccines not preventing nearly as well as initially expected, I'm going to stay covered up until the positive rates are well below 5% in my area. It's currently still up around 25%-30%

I believe there is value in noting the vaccine IS approved for children in Sweden ages 6years to 11years in high risk (groups) .


so. writers and our poster can say what they want about the development process for a vaccine for young children ( ages 6months to 5years ), but this is a vaccine that is still in the development process...
( I can see it coming - ' This is *new* ; it needs to go through the whole approval process ! ' well, That is what is being done - for Emergency Use Authorization. )

I accept that parents want a Safe vaccine for their children. But almost nothing in Life is Absolutely Safe ( any one can die in our sleep. it is a risk, and the final outcome of Life )

And - no one in a position of Responsibility has questioned the Safety of the vaccine - There have been adverse reactions. I am aware of two cases that attribute death to vaccination. Two. ... weeks after the administration of the vaccine, I struggle to accept the effect-and-cause claim. ( and someone with more expertise and authority that I have signed those Death Certificates ). more broadly, the poster has asked why Sweden has taken a different approach - I believe there is an implication that Sweden's approach was 'better' . I would counter, it's really hard to compare the Policy of a country of 300M with a country of 10M. and I really think that is a divisive, counter-productive 'discussion' .

as XXX cites below, Sweden's death rate from covid is several times higher than it's Scandanavian neighbors.

at this point, about all I will say is we (all) needed to do better as a species. More than Five million dead is nothing to be proud about.

a quick check of worldometer shows Sweden had almost 1600 deaths per million while the nordic countries around it were much less,

Norway @ 267/ Finland @ 377/ hell even Canada beat Sweden @ 900

Agreed, it's only safe if everyone keeps their masks on. If they were serious. they would not be allowing food and drink in the stands... instead just having special areas like when they used to have smoking areas in venues out and away from where the people are enjoying the event happenings.

Don't get too excited or bummed about school mask policy changing because of this.

Our statewide and even citywide mandates have been mostly gone since last July. Schools are doing what the school board votes for and they vote every month. Rural redneck counties dropped the masks immediately. Blue counties near major universities and research hospitals are still requiring masks in schools. Although with numbers dropping, the mask rules could change soon. But, dropping the state mandate did NOT result in most schools dropping their mask policies..

Well, it would pretty disgusting if Oregon didn't lift their mask mandate by the end of March. Masks are almost worthless today and new infections will be nearly non-existent, worldwide, by the end of March, according to the latest from Dr. Murray at IHME:
