Best Gaper comedy show from this past weekend: Watching gapers try and load the T bar at Breck. Gotta love the stupidity of the uneducated when they hang on/ get dragged up the hill for 50/100ft or they try sitting down against lifter instructions not to. Bare in mind that they stood in line for 20 minutes watching it play over and over before their turn to load. Lifties were pulling the old Warren Miller voice over- “you want your ski? Go get it” as they made them take the walk of shame to the back of the line. After a particular brutal stretch, I felt the need to tip the loftie $10 for having to deal with all the idiots.

It was extra absurd this past weekend

There was a guy standing across the entrance to the alpine springs lift line who decided to take his ski and boot fully off for an unknown reason and a kid came nuking in, hit the guy’s ski, got off balance, and bulldozed through the slow sign before crashing in the lift line

We rode up with a dude who put the bar down on top of a full beer can in his pocket. Explored in his ski pants. He pulled it out and shotgunned what was left.

Frankly, it was kind of a boss move.

Whoa! In my patrol days I had to run a couple of drunks down from the top in a toboggan. We’d reaux-cham-beaux - loser had to take them down. We’d never have strapped anyone in like that - too much chance of them pitching out, or vomiting all over everything.

I was on the WROD one year and there was a guy skiing spats. And he was easily the best skier on the mountain. Before that day I didn't realize it was possible to ski ironically.

Isn't there a story of a mag on a Vail or Crested Butte WROD day loading the lift with a guy on obsetheds (back when they were fat). He looked over and was about to make a comment about why in the world he would be on those skis when the mag realized he was on the chair with Seth Morrison.

The way I heard the story the guy went on-and-on about how the Obsetheds were inappropriate for the early season day at Loveland -
a third party on the ride knew they were with SM and just kept quiet...

G.O.C: those are only good for the powder. i don't know why you would ski on them today (2 runs open at loveland in october). you need to have a ski with metal and a tight sidecut (he has neither in his skis... atomic sx:7) to get the most out of todays conditions

Not a quote, but a gaper move. Ski bro in line this past weekend, sipping from his White Claw, got to the part where you alternate with the line next to yours. But his bros were not back down yet so he waved through the next group in the adjacent line while looking at the mountain searching for his friends.

After he waved through yet another group we looked at each other like "WTF?" and went around him.
