I rip the groomed on tele gear
oh, nice. Hard to fault that look - should look awesome irl.
Fiddle with the ramp if you can.
I spent a couple days on my beloved 12/13 BGs over the Christmas break and was amazed at how much the ski behavior changed with the different ramp in my new boots. Same mount point (no change to bindings) but that couple extra degrees of fwd lean put my CG on the wrong spot on the ski and I had to steer em with my ass out and was all over the damn place. Very alarming for an otherwise super familiar ski.
I think you are onto something here.
I have kinda had a similar experience with Woods102s/110s 50/50s, Tectons and Lange XT3 130s (12 degree fl), albeit only on groomers. It was like I could not ski, while my standard wood110s w/Pivots skied great with the same boots.
I then tried the wood110/tectons with Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD 130s (15 degree fl) - skied icy groomers like a champ. Go figure huh. I have never been sensitive to ramp angle, or so I thought.
It have since started to think a bit differently about it. And yes, it has made me and makes me feel like a moron. Here I thought I could figure out skis and how to ski them, and I have been completely blind to ramp angle interferring with how I ski the skis (I've been on Tectons/Vipecs and Shifts almost exclusively the past two seasons - their ramp is pretty similar). It makes sense too as I am about as flexible as a 2x4. So I can but apologize.
and yes, I have been obsessing over toe spacers, remounting skis with different bindings, and so on. I've not fully landed on the best way how to proceed, especially with me trying to be sensible and doing some quiver consolidation too.
And yes - I can't wait to see what Iggy has up his sleeve wrt the next iteration of CDs with the last two pairs of the current design being sold.![]()
I put forward lean spoilers in all my touring boots for that reason , and toe risers for that matter. Plus the new tour layups are proper touring light and then combined with pintech bindings. My steeples w pintechs ski like a champ on the hill but i wouldnrt expect that if i took a pound of each ski. 50/50 layup might be fine. At some point theres a bridge too far for hill duty. The layup designations explain that pretty well(tour, 50/50, standard)

Have a line on some 2021 Billy Goat's for $650 new, trying to decide if I should pull the trigger.
Current pow ski is a 189 Black Crow Atris, which I like, but I also like trying new things. Things I like about the Atris: Can charge, but is still forgiving, stable. Everyone seems to universally like the BG's, but unfortunately my ability to demo them is limited.
I have a hold up about a 116mm waist, seems like a whole lot of float and makes the ski a bit of a one day pony. Am I wrong? can I ski them the day after too, or will I be left needing another cleanup ski?

make women ski goats again
I’ve decided to sell my Caylors here locally in SLC but wouldn’t be against shipping them. This is my listing:
https://classifieds.ksl.com/listing/66487308
Skis are 191cm and are in great shape. They are on there first mount for Atomic Tracker 16s (included) in a size large.
PM me with any questions.
I would entertain trades for either a ON3P Jessie in a 160cm ish (preferably the narrower 88s), or for a Fischer Ranger 102 fr in pink in that same size range - or selfishly in a 177/184 for me. Cash can supplement the deal if I’m way off on pricing.
