a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
Formerly Rludes025
the current ON3P part of my quiver:
travel skis:
ON3P Woodsman102 182 50/50 layup w/ Tectons
ON3P Woodsman110 182 50/50 layup w/ Tectons
Resort specific quiver:
ON3P Woodsman 96 182 w/Castified Pivots
ON3P Woodsman 108 182 w/Pivots
ON3P BillyGoat110 182 - to be mounted with Pivots (or Cast if I decide to sell the wood116s)
ON3P Woodsman 110 182 w/Castified Pivots
ON3P Woodsman 116 182 w/Castified Pivots
ON3P BillyGoat116 asyms 184 - will probably get Pivots - might be different enough to BG118s to warrant keeping both as the asyms are a bit stiffer
ON3P BillyGoat118 182 w/Castified Pivots
The current plan is to sell my wood108s, wood116s and BGasyms after trying them back to back with the new skis, but time will tell what happens. And yes, I got a bit carried away when I created the travel quiver, but had the Tectons and really wanted to give the 50/50 layup a go - so... oh well.
Damn! Well done and sinister as fuck! Curious ur thoughts on the Woods 108 versus 110. The more directional mount point has me wondering. Gonna steal my kids 110’s one of these days versus my 108 tours. Love that C&D topsheet from two years ago as well! So spooky…..

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the new BG 110 tour? I picked them up as my touring/5-10cm resort days and put cast on them.
I still can say that I enjoy the ASYM BGs that I’ve got over my updates BGs.
Just referring to fresh now, I still find the ASYM design works so much better in soft spots then the updated version.
Does anyone else agree?

i have the stock core BG 110’s in a 182. They weigh 2080 and 2100 grams. Compared to my ASYM 116’s, which are 2300 gram 184’s, the 110’s are much quicker turning so a bit less stable. They are similarly less catchy than my woodman 108’s, but not the same monster trucks in chop that the 116’s are. I think I prefer the non ASYM tail so far.
I think the biggest difference is the reworked flex pattern to be fair, not the mount point. They hand flex a fair bit differently, so I can't wait to get on them.
Oh, and yes - Wood108s are mounted at -1cm from recommended, while le Wood116s are mounted -8mm or -11mm, can't recall though I think the latter.
I think the difference in feel that you describe is more down to 110 vs 116 than sym vs asym or updated vs previous design.
I found my BG108tours (symmetrical) to ski a little bit differently than asyms, in that they need a more forward stance to shine (for me at least). 6mm doesn't seem like a lot, but it actually makes for a bit of difference - especially when you factor in the difference in mass between a tour ski and the standard layup.
I will report back when I get time on my pairs.
man, I can't get over how cool that graphic is. Would you terribly mind posting a picture of the tails as well?
I ski WD108s as my DD, and have about 10 days in on my WD110 tours.
The 110 tail does come around a bit quicker with less effort than on my 108s. This is most noticeable to me at low/medium speeds. I'm sure the tour vs. stock layup also contributes to this, but figured it was worth mentioning anyway.
^^^ I think maybe the mount point moved back a bit? That could be part of it?
Grizzlycorn Woods 108 in 187cm. Had to go ~+7mm because of a hole conflict, but man just looking at these things gives me a boner...

I have said so before in this thread, but I have this hypothesis that the largest difference between the asyms and BG118s for me is going to be flatter/stiffer (asym) vs softer/more camber (BG118).
It kinda makes sense to me that a ski with more camber feels a tad more locked in at slower speeds even if it is softer, but still retain the superb suspension and looseness at speed. After all, the shape/balance point of the skis are really similar.
I could be way off here, so it will def be interesting to test them.
oh and yes - since I got a question about it, I still run Contour Hybrid Split skins with the Castified skis. They work really well across most widths, are light and give more than enough traction for my needs. The only thing they are not great at is doing multiple laps in really wet snow, which is fine.

Another day today on the BG118 at Steven's on a pow day. In case anyone had any doubts, the BG118 are still the King of Resort Pow.
90% of skiing is just looking cool
If anyone wants to part with their 187/192 BG 118, do let me know.
