I'll not bat an eye to cook something that's been frozen 5 years. If it's frosty, just rinse it off first. It it's truly freezer burned, dried out.. then ya, probably not going to be tasty,,, but still 100% safe to eat.

I feel that. In my defense, someone clearly taught my gf that the way to a man’s heart is through is stomach because she cooks relentlessly for me.
Still, should have put them on toast with sauce and cheese or something.
Will do tonight.

Realized I wasn't that specific. I threw out the nasty dried out bits. The remainder went in a stew. It was pretty good.

Bay leaf
White wine
Canned diced tomatoes
Chicken stock

30 minutes in the instant pot on high pressure cook

Add 2c frozen green beans
Thicken with flour
Add 2 cans great northern beans

Serve over potatoes. Or not. I skipped the taters. Other two people had them. 16yo skipped the potatoes when he ate some of the leftovers after basketball practice. He said it was tres Bien. Which from that kid is like getting all of the Michelin stars, ever.

If you see it out on tables at restaurants, it's probably OK. Most hot sauces are mostly vinegar so they should be good. Ketchup and mustard, no problemo. Hard cheeses, no problemo. Mayo I would toss. Pickles will be fine.

After an FN gave me salmon frozen in ice I been freezing my fish in ice and it does not get freezer burnt
