If one is running a bar and some guy is always starting abusive, ad hom arguments, I would think it the business owners prerogative to eject the offender.
Clearly, some people fail to understand the nuances of users versus administrators and contractual agreements like ToS.

Note, I never said there was anything illegal, or even morally wrong, with the administrators giving anyone the boot. I am surmising that altering people's post in any conceivable way could potentially expose TGR administrators to possible criminal and/or civil liability. That is the advice I would give if TGR was my client, playing it safe. Cyberbulling laws change every year. This is the issue prosecutor's talk about when they get together and discuss new laws. There are numerous Continuing Legal Education courses about this topic.
In Skidog's case, I would say no harm, no foul. He discovered the change quickly, and moderators removed it upon his request. But I noticed signatures don't show up on phones. Some of us exclusively use our phones to read TGR. What if Skidog never had noticed the change? What if years go by and the dude is running for elected office (I know, extremely unlikely, but hear me out). His opponent discovers his TGR posts, including he is a self-described cum jizzlr. This could ruin the man. Skidog should have to take responsibility for the shit he posts on TGR. But he shouldn't to take responsibility for shit he doesn't post, but are attributed to him.
To be clear, I do not think there are any laws out there that apply to what Skidog has done. But that doesn't mean the laws might not soon be changed to encompass what occurred.
Thread drift. This doesn't apply, but in my research I came across Washington's cyberstalking statute. Ask yourself if this has ever occurred here?
RCW 9.61.260(1) – Cyberstalking
A person is guilty of cyberstalking if he or she, with intent to harass, intimidate, torment, or embarrass any other person, and under circumstances not constituting telephone harassment, makes an electronic communication to such other person or a third party:
a. Using any lewd, lascivious, indecent, or obscene words, images, or language, or suggesting the commission of any lewd or lascivious act;
b. Anonymously or repeatedly whether or not conversation occurs; or
c. Threatening to inflict injury on the person or property of the person called or any member of his or her family or household….
(5) For purposes of this section, “electronic communication” means the transmission of information by wire, radio, optical cable, electromagnetic, or other similar means. “Electronic communication” includes, but is not limited to, electronic mail, internet-based communications, pager service, and electronic text messaging.
On a per person basis, far more giving.
On a global basis, possibly receiving, but close.
In particular, the folks who are the best informed about this stuff, mofro, MV, etc rarely used any kind of personal attack.
And while that's just my opinion as a user, what really matters is the opinion of the owners and administrators. I infer from their actions that they just might agree.
At the same time, whether anyone pays any attention to it, I've been vociferously advocating for toning down those personal attacks on the part of the folks who ostensibly side with the science. You know who you are.
Fuck, it's fall people, where's the stoke, the plans, the reminisces, the camaraderie and in particular the donations: https://www.gofundme.com/f/stoke-dreams

Wait - did I just read that SkidOg got banned?
SD and Deeb's problem was that their trolling was too obvious. They could take a page out of alta's book.
Does he float?
