No one doubts that once Owens had the lab lady's email, it was a publicity stunt by Owens to stick it on the internet and make a big deal out of it. And no one doubts Owens is a cunt and this really didn't inconvenience her. I don't think she booked the appointment knowing they would deny her. My point is the lab served this up to Owens on a platter and she ran with it.

100% agree...and I didn't know that about how they booked it. Insane to think she feels the need to book appointments that way...this, or something similar, must have happened more than once? Where do you read that? If there is a mask policy and she refuses, absolutely the business can and should refuse service. But here they canceled her appointment via email. Also, I haven't read anything that she refused to take them up on the back alley testing at City Hall. Not sure that test would have satisfied whatever reason she wanted the test. The lab is owned by Rocky Mountain Labs in Englewood, CO. They opened a testing site in Aspen to serve the needs of the community because, as others have noted, they don't have Walgreens and other facilities for testing like more populated locations. And they have a huge demand for tests because Aspen.

So basically, you read something in the media and want to be outraged, but don't have the facts, and argue disingenuously. Methinks you trolling. You may not know it but you're disrespecting honest conversation.

It’s probably like cocaine. If you snort a giant pile at once you get super fucked up and your heart might explode, verses snorting little bumps throughout the day and keeping a buzz.

Being exposed to a "large" amount of virus all at once is likely going to be worse- the higher dose in a shorter time frame is more likely to carry over into the Lower Resp Tract where bad things happen quickly vs. colonization of the Upper Resp Tract.

15 Miami-Dade educators die from COVID-19 in 10 days

Fifteen staffers of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools District have died from COVID-19 in the past 10 days, officials said.

Sonia Diaz, a spokesperson for several unions in the school district, confirmed the number of deaths to affiliate NBC6.

One of the educators that lost their life to COVID-19 was Abe Coleman, a teacher for more than 30 years.

“It’s a tremendous loss. The number of lives that he impacted are countless. So many young men had the benefit of him intervening in their lives and pointing them in the right direction,” said Marcus Bright, with 5000 Role Models of Excellence.

Coleman was also a mentor and Site Director for the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Program, overseeing the Holmes Elementary location. He helped shape the lives of hundreds of young men over the years in the organization that mentors minority men in Miami-Dade County.

“In particular, he was a bridge builder for the students there. He connected them with opportunity, with resources, with infrastructures of opportunity that fed into and contributed to their development,” Bright said.

On Tuesday, Coleman lost his life to COVID-19 at the age of 55.
