Interesting that Austin is doing so poorly, it's super liberal compared to the rest of TX and from what I could Google, has a pretty high vax rate around 70% I suspect the surrounding rural areas have pretty low rates, though.

And I suspect a lot of medical facilities are sending their cases *to* Austin if they can't handle things locally (too few/no ICU beds).

Florida has one the highest rates of vaccinations for the most vulnerable demos, the elderly. News is so focused on COVID "rates" as opposed to deaths per million, which paints a very different picture.

So with the 4th wave hitting those states hard, they should and will be mentioned in the news by all sides of the media.

Your post hit on some links to a guy i worked with as well as the alberta premiers recent talking point on schwaab and the devos group. Kid at work is nice enough but 30 something know it all joe rogan podcaster. Kid reminds me of Austin. Constantly proven wrong but continues with the kool aid conspiracy arguements, backtracks and then rinse and repeat. Im not very up on this shwaab character and the devos group but premier kenney hitting hard on it fits right in with these right wingers. Whats the deal with schwaab and this devos group. Florida has pulled well ahead of Louisiana; they're #1 in new cases per population, and about 50% higher than their previous case rate back in January. Also #1 in current daily average hospitalizations per population, and #3 in current daily average deaths per population (don't spike the ball or anything; it's a trailing indicator, and likely to catch up). Link. (EDIT: Just refreshed an hour later and they have FL back in second place for the moment, so maybe give it a few days.)

Now of course, if you're not dialed in to librul media, you can disregard what I just said, because Florida's Covid situation is "mid-pack".
