Saw this on Pugki. Amusing,
I have been enjoying whiskys from Tasmania recently, so here is my collection from Tasmania
Here is my Japanese whisky collection - and I have two more bottles of Yamazaki 12 and Yamazaki, and 2 bottles of Hibiki not in the picture.
And here is what I am currently drinking
The three remaining bottles of Yamazki 18 I bought at 150.00 each, and now they are being sold for over 2000 USD here in Japan. I am saving each bottle for when each of my kids turns 20 - when they become adults here in Japan - so that is something fun to look forward to.
I love Japanese whisky and drink the shit outta it, but I have fallen in love with Tasmanian whisky - Sullivan's Cove, Lark, and Overeem are all amazing. If you can ever find any of them, do yourself a favor and pick it up!

Wow impressive collection!
Have you had the Nikkei Coffey still stuff?
Those pictures are making me thirsty.
Damn, solid collection. Love Yama 18 - fantastic juice. And I had no idea Tasmania had malt producers. Whoa.
For my meager shelf I just picked up Ardbeg An Oa. Not my favorite Ardbeg but tasty and a good addition to the lineup.

Yamazaki 18 is liquid gold - I would put it up there with Sullivan's Cove French Oak, or Ardbeg's Supernova. Mindblowingly good and if I could only drink one bottle the rest of my life that would make the final cut.
Yeah I have tried a few of the Coffeys here and can't say I really liked them too much - however I don't think I tried them at the right time and would give them a go again. The Nikka distillery is only about an hour from my house and I have been a few times with mates. With nobody able to come in I need to go this Fall and see what they have on their shelves since the SE Asians, Chinese, Aussies can't get in right now.

tonight's tasting flight - non age statement ardbegs.

I’m an Oogy guy, but haven’t tried An Oa yet. Based on their description, it probably won’t change my preference.
I'm in Brownsville PA for martial arts training this weekend and I forgot to pack a scotch so we stopped along the way and I picked up Monkey Shoulder. I know it's not a single malt , but it's a decent scotch for the price and a good whisky for the non-whisky drinkers in our group.
Yeah, I prefer Corryvreckan but only by the slimmest of margins. Both Oogy and Corry are fantastic; An Oa is great too but certainly much more subdued. Ultimately I'm glad to have all three, but if I had to cut one it would be An Oa, without a doubt.
Still looking to pick up a bottle of Drum, that stuff is fantastic.

Nice selection tgapp. I can taste them in my mind by just staring at your photo (but would rather have the real thing in front of me)
I recently picked up a bottle of Kirkland 24 year single malt Speyside whisky at Costco for about $68. I've had the 16 yr, 20 yr, 22 yr, and 23 yr in the past, but this one was by far my favorite. I think it may have also been the cheapest except for maybe the 16 yr. It is a little sweeter than I normally like, but the finish is really nice for me. I'll pick up a second bottle if there are any left as I have a feeling this one will go quick over the holidays.
Thanks for the tip Grange. 24 yr for $68 is stealing.

Enjoying a bottle of Tawhisker Distiller's Edition tonight

Talisker Distillers Edition is one of my favorites.
For the price it's hard to beat.
Probably pretty clear by my posts in this thread, but I spend a lot of time drinking "the top of the bottom". NAS whiskies are great budget picks, and Talisker Distiller's is incredible. Almost as good as Talisker 18 at less than half the price.

My bottle of Talisker Distillers Edition it provided the distilled date and bottled year, which are 10 years apart so I assumed it is just the normal 10 year that is finished in Amoroso casks. I believe that is the same with several of my Distillers Edition bottles including Dalwhinnie, and Lagavulin.
Does your bottle not have the distilled and bottled years?
For NAS I really enjoy Talisker Storm.
Came across these this weekend:
I don’t see the L12 very often. That’s the expression bottled at 56.5%. I’m looking forward to cracking it tonight.
The Mortlach was bottled at 14 years.
Interesting. Never heard of Mortlach.
That 12 is perfect holiday fare.
