You can park on the street with the price written on the window with a soap pen, nice and big and on the side of the car facing the lot. People don't just walk the lot for fun, they're looking to buy. Help them buy.
Wait, how can we trust this guy^^^ He's clearly not DJSapp

I think it helped that the car had been sitting for a few weeks and I went in prepared to write a check one day before the end of the month. And if they get the price they’re asking for the trade-in, they’ll be doing pretty good.

    Used car dealers get $2k
Been that way for years. It’s not a bad business to be in.

Talking about cheap cars. Bobby stainless is a different biz.

Hahaha. I'll have to remember that for next time! Solid tip. Anyhoo, got the car sold yesterday and did quite well on it. Nice actually having the absurd used car market work in my favor for once! I'll miss that car but gotta do what I gotta do.

As much as selling cars these days annoys me, it was worth sifting through all the scammers to get a good buyer. Nice guy who was no fuss, no muss, didn't dick around with me, and was super stoked to get the car. Made me happy to see it go to a good home.

    Mortgage company.

Got a notice last week effective 7/1 mortgage was being transferred. Letters mentions federal law that if they receive payment anytime with 60 days of transfer new company counts it as on time.

Mentions new company will be in contact with details.

Well no one has contacted me, and old company did not draft today. Other then viewing history, my account is completely locked out online. 2 hour estimate hold from old company, soni hung up. New company is 45 minute.....

End of the month is a good move. Allotments are important when there's already shortage of inventory.

Taking 7 hours to drive 330 miles today, and getting a cracked windshield in the process.

    That annoys me.

oh man, my windshield cracked on 80 a few weeks back. contacted safelite that next day and they said it'll be $1400. walk outside the next morning to find the crack went from about 6" on the far side of my windshield to spanning the entire width of the thing. got a call from back from them later saying that there aren't any windshields available for my car at the moment.

    Shit that annoys you

Neighbor (that we have lived next to for 22 years without issue) has suddenly stopped mowing his grass this year and now seems very bothered by our “adjoining property lines”. I have a feeling a fence is coming......or at least a stand off is coming from him on my next mowing session.

The line I/we have been mowing for 22 years has always been a nice straight line that makes the two properties (3 acre lots) adjoin and just naturally flow into each other......no issues....looks normal. Now, this year for some reason he’s not mowing his whole property/only directly around his house......so out by me, along our line....the grass is knee high/looks like shit.

I noticed yesterday that he took his mower to the lowest blade and scalded a line of what he believes is his “actual property line”.....(which he has every right to do)....but now it’s knee high grass to scald line right up against my mowed property.....it looks ridiculous. Do I have to go buy a zero turn mower so as to not “cross his line”? What the hell happened to our “friendly” mowing of where we just joined them together to make it look nice.....

This is the stupid shit that annoys me....now I gotta worry about this property line crap all of a sudden. I’ll probably see no trespassing signs posted everywhere next....

Why don't you ask him what's up followed by a six pack or whatever beverage he likes ?

It’ll work out…just was annoying to see.

I have comprehensive with a $100 deductible, which covers this. I probably should ask about a specific glass rider, and see if that's any different in premium totals with a higher comp deductible.

I'd check on the cost of the glass first. Every vehicle I've ever owned has cost less than $250 to replace the windshield... so I've never bothered making a claim (I'm not even sure if glass is covered by my policy, and TBH, I don't care, as I suspect making a claim is poking the bear).

All that shit's probably for their own employees! (Only kinda joking...)

One of my clients is a car dealership - and a lot of years ago, one of their own employees had stolen several vehicles from the dealership, and then got fired for some reason. (Not the stolen vehicles.)

Eventually they started trying to find those vehicles and all roads led to this guy. (It's a long story...)
That may be one of the most colorful stories, but car salesman? They'll do the craziest shit you've ever seen. Seriously.

And usually the guy who essentially runs the place is the "best" salesman - so it's crazy from the top all the way to the bottom.
(In my case, the dealership is now run in a way more sane way than in the past, but it's still crazy-train most all the time - just in a different way. But at least I don't think the employees are stealing cars any more. LOL.)

The root message though is - expect the unexpected. Sales people (and especially car sales) think in a way that's just *way* different than the way I think. They'll do stuff that just seems completely unhinged from reality. (At least to me...)

I googled. Parts cost for the OEM windshield is between $550-750, but I can't tell why there's a difference. Mine has rain sensing wipers so am guessing it's not the cheaper one.

Windshield broke a few years ago from a rock hit, insurance hired glass company that put in an aftermarket windshield that had ridiculous distortion. I complained, they replaced with a different one, which was a little better but there was a lot of wind noise. Complained again, got an OEM windshield with new trim kit, and it was back to normal. Premium didn't change as result of claim.

Guessing I'm going to go through the same hassle over an OEM windshield again this time...
