Even better I just learned that VT is allowing one un vaxxed person for every 50 sq feet of space, I think at outdoor events. Good luck with that one

Catching up on this thread and just wanted to chime in RE the shoulder issues - mine was really fucked up after the first shot, it was actually in both shoulders even though I got both shots in my left shoulder. I have prior damage in the right shoulder that will need surgery to correct but I think the shot somehow triggered some tendinitis in both, it just affected the right way more, to the tune of about a month and a half to not have daily pain doing ordinary tasks.

I'll find out soon if I tore my rotator cuff. I had the shot in that arm. Bled like a mutherfucker, but very little pain. I've had tendonitis for years in my shoulders and elbows, Pfizer first shot didn't flare it up.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. Misery love company.

I'm two weeks out now and I'd say my shoulder is almost back to normal. I occasionally feel a twinge, but overall it's much better.

Is it 2002 again? Obvious bullshit memes making a comeback, or is this how we will finally master time travel? Snopes has a lot more ads these days, and my joints don't feel as tight. Initial optimism is fading.

Canada has now passed the UK in % of people with at least 1 dose with no signs of a slowdown. We will likely pass Israel in a week, and surpass 80% vaccine uptake (no thanks to panodude) when all is said and done. Amazing!

Yeah, it was obvious to everyone except those tasked with making the rules.

This is a little more in depth than Snopes and has fewer ads:

There's every bit of chance that we take a sharp flatline like Israel did. I'd like to think not, but we'll see. I agree though, demand is still vastly outstripping supply and we're doing one hell of a job.

I just figured it had to be a joke since the first sentence claims it came from a 1981 book, the cover of which is shown to contain "1981-1986" and that's just too obvious not to laugh. But that mythdetector article really drills down on just where the war on western civilization is coming from. Thanks!

I wonder if the Russian AI newsreader lets you upload Russian text, or do they only want to generate English propaganda?

Indeed, late start but then a very strong job by Canada!

See, once the vaccine was supplied in bags instead of vials, hesitancy collapsed

Americans are celebrating steps toward normalcy. But the real test of Covid-19 progress is 2 weeks away, expert says

(CNN)While Memorial Day was a milestone for a return to a sense of normalcy from the Covid-19 pandemic, it could take another two weeks to determine where the US really stands, an expert said.

"In some ways, this was the first big stress test," CNN medical analyst Dr. Leana Wen said. "We have restrictions lifted en masse, people going about their normal lives. We know that in the pas, after major holidays and an increase in travel, that we then had a substantial uptick in the rate of infections."

The US has had a lot to celebrate when it comes to recovery from the pandemic: More than half of the US has received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine and 12 states have reached President Joe Biden's goal of having 70% of Americans getting at least one dose by July 4.
When you see something that is not right, not just, not fair, you have a moral obligation to say something. To do something." Rep. John Lewis

Why 2 weeks? Average onset of symptoms is 5 days. Real test is..... this weekend?

That's absurd. People have been unmasked for months now. Typically CNN, dealing in fear.

    I agree.

"And with variants spreading around the globe, even cases falling too much could cause a problem by reducing the feeling of urgency to be vaccinated, Wen added"

Seriously. Since Spring of LAST year, they keep saying the doom and gloom is always 2 weeks away from this or that. Then nothing... Then the next holiday or event, then they say again "2 weeks! You just watch!" Then nothing... Then it's this state or municipality easing up on restrictions a bit, and then they say again "Catastrophe is coming in 2 WEEKS!" Then nothing... It's always "2 weeks" away. Reminds me of the signs you see at bars: "Free beer tomorrow!"

It's the boy who cried wolf at this point.

Yeah I mean the US has done so well with this compared to um India...perfectly fine to say that “nothing happened”

And just to be clear about my boy who cried wolf analogy, I'm not saying it's impossible the doom or gloom scenario CAN'T happen! My point rather is that if/when that no shit scenario does hit, people won't take it seriously because they've heard "2 weeks!" about a thousand times by now. When that hungry wolf really does hit the village, nobody's listening to the little boy (CNN) any more and then people really are screwed because they didn't listen to the one time he was telling the truth.
