We had a game a few weeks ago that had 60 shots on goal, and kiddo let in 5.
    That’s a shot a minute, almost!
It seemed a useful metric to gauge his effort in that particular game. We lost by two.
We had no defense except kiddo, and that number showed it plainly.

You let your kid play goal for a team that allows 60 shots per game?
My kid wanted to play QB on his HS football team--in a school where the most common surname was Saechao and the most frequent pass play was the QB running straight for the sideline to try and stay alive. We didn't let him play.

I haven't watched much hockey this season but caught the third of Sharks/GK last night. Sharks down 1 with a minute to go, Burns made a great headman pass towards Lebanc at the red line. The pass didn't connect but went on goal. Lebanc outraced the D as the goalie tried to clear and missed and Lebanc put it in. (GK won in OT.)

I enjoy calling these assholes back and wasting their time especially if I'm still up at 11PM.

This doesn’t annoy me but I couldn’t think of another thread to post in. I gather this might annoy some people...

Old dude wearing ski gear talking on the phone in produce aisle wearing a chin strap in a grocery store where masks are required. Me: "hey bud where's your mask?" "oh it fell off, sorry". 10 mins later, other side of store the same old dude talking on the phone wearing a chin strap fondling all the beer bottles in the cooler. His reply after me giving him shit. "I need to talk on the phone" (To pick out beer?????) I give him more shit. "Well I've had MY 2 shots." It went way downhill from there.

This a railcar of Idaho potatoes (3640 50lb cartons) that was in a derailment and reloaded onto another car and then delivered to the customer. Yes it was annoying to deal with and I did experience several of these in my career.

I do it for free, but would have likely been fired on the spot if I was an employee.

If I was getting paid I probably wouldn't let it annoy me.

My Santa Cruz camilion with 1x10 xtr was stolen off my porch last week. I guess it's my fault. Loved that bike. Cannot really replace it.

    Reloaded by hand?

Somebody should tell those jokers at Town to buy better boxes like their friendly competitors over at GPOD.

Yes the railroad hired people to reload by hand and that's why the cartons are a mess.

Town and Country is one of GPOD's brands and I can assure you the carton is the same or even a bit sturdier. T&C contains (5) 10lb poly sacks and they don't quite settle exactly as nice as the GPOD brand cartons packed w loose potatoes. This shows what the cartons look like at destination after a 2800 mile ride. They are loaded by the pallet on plastic sheets at the plant. These are Cook-rite cartons that contain (10) 5lb poly sacks.

Yes. Now that I have a kid in Vegas I can be a GK fan as well as a Bruins fan (other kid in Boston), at least until the Wings get their shit together.

Good to know that with all the experts we've lost over the last few years we still have a truck loading expert.

Between a fucked up shoulder (old age) and wrist (XC skiing accident) I have to take off my skis to get up if I fall on flattish terrain (like yesterday when I fell standing still in a white out). I suppose I could just wait for patrol to help me up if I had one of those alert things. (My mother had one. When she fell and broke her pelvis she lay on the floor all night because she didn't want to bother anyone. And BTW--if you fall and can't get up how are you supposed to let the EMT's in? I guess they have to call the cops to bust down the door.)

Because firefighters can't break doors? (the term is 'force entry,' and we're experts.)

    Shit that annoys you

Have an employee who was butthurt over their raise. Thought they were worth more. I didn’t really agree, but spent time over the weekend mapping out a plan and some goals and a mid-year review that could be used to help him achieve his salary goals. Not just bullshit... he wanted to get paid for a job he wasn’t really doing yet, and these were things he’d need to learn and accomplish before he would be able to do that.

Told him I wanted to touch base on it, how about 1pm? He said no, he had somebody coming over for lunch. How about 1:15?

Sure, I say, call me when you’re free.

At 1:35: sorry, lunch took longer than I thought it would.
    focus.

I was a salesman for a while. Man did I suck at it. Great at customer service, fucking horrendous at sales. But if you need any tips on filling out fake lead sheets and prospect reports ping me.

That mid-year review feedback is writing itself on day 1 it seems...
