I’m going to invent a backcountry skiing version of zwift. You’ll skin up on a Nordictrack machine and then back down on a skiers edge. Investors welcome.

Let the virtual gear debates begin!

    Looks awesome!
Zwift is introducing new ‘AI’. Group dynamics are going to be much different. If you enter any of the make up TDZ stages, you will notice that your avatar no longer rides through the guy in front of you. You will now ride around the next guy, it also should keep the constant surging of the pack at the front from just building speed, more realistic. I’m gonna jump in a stage in a bit and check it out. It’s on Zwift Insider if you want a better explanation.

I had a dream last night that I got Lightweight Meilenstein, so I figured I’d go up the Alpe du Zwift this morning.
    Stupid gloves.

    The worst prize!
Just did the RGV route, stage 6. The new ‘AI’ feels great. Still needs some refinement, little jumpy at the start. Got into the front group and it was way more realistic, not so blobby, more like a rotating pace line. There was 12 of us in the front group, the guys in the background caught us and we had a killer group, everyone took pulls. Anyone else jumping into TDZ make up rides, let’s hear your thoughts.
3.5w/kg for 35 minutes, my best effort in 3 months, stoked.

Haha. How many times have you ridden it? I think it took me like 12-14 attempts to finally get the wheels.

Also, I was off zwift cold turkey for 3 weeks because my smart bike shit the bed. I just got back riding yesterday when the warranty replacement got here. All I have to say is ouch. Going right back into TdZ has been tough. I look forward to restarting my workout plan Monday so I can at least suffer w/out getting dropped.

Can't say I noticed a difference in the AI, but I wasn't really looking for it. Will def read up on it.

Now I’m watching Tour le Provance, stage 3, up to Chateau Reynard, half way up the Ventoux. Snowed last night, the Ventoux looks incredible covered in snow. Riding the couch on a kind mix of endorphins and THC gummies, feeling good!

I just have the sock height slider to the max. Triathlete height is either nothing/ankle or compression socks up to the knee.

Having not done any of tdz I decided to do some make up rides today, short version of stage 1, 4, 7 all in a row. It was fun but I felt a little like a sandbagger. 3rd one on jungle loop was hard though, thanks to a zpower guy and some other weirdness. I used the aspero but the other guy was on a mtb and I could tell it was a little faster on the last trip down to the start/finish. Got him in the sprint though and "won" all three.

Are Kevin Harts bike socks too tall, or is Kevin Hart too short?

Done. Doubled up today. Bumped my FTP the other day. All in all well a nice way to build intensity into training.

Random, but I wish this view showed the finish time of the event.

Who has their Uber Pretzel Badge? 128.3 km (79.7 miles) long with 2335 m (7,661‘) of climbing. The final climb, the Alpe du Zwift , comes after 115km of riding.
Zwift insider has planning a group ride, with double draft, and only useful power ups next Saturday morning. 2400 people are already signed up. This is a good way to knock off this badge and have some people to ride (aka draft) with.
Details here at Zwift Insider, and you can sign up here on Zwift.

This is the kind of ride where you're psyched at mile 0, getting into the flow at mile 10, turning the cranks over by 30, questioning your life choices by 50, and just plain feel like a retard by 60. I'm in!

No not yet, more than 2 hours just seems to take extra commitment. Have regular pretzel, four horsemen, big foot hills out of the longest ones.

Did tour of fire and ice again today, it's a great route for longer intervals. 30min of warmup, start the workout at the bottom of the climb, then you're at or near the top when it's over. Got the 5x adz badge, no lightweight wheels though, and not sure my workout was very worthwhile. Just 3x8min plus solid pace to the top, for 8min I think I should be doing more power with fresher legs.

I signed up as soon as I heard about it. Now to see if I have the ass strength to go the distance. Gonna be an early wake up for west coast riders.

Was brainstorming comfort strategies during my spin today - including swapping to different saddle mid ride, putting towels or dense foam under the corners of my spin bike so it can kinda rock side to side a bit, freezing some fluids the night before for cold drinks in the second half etc.

    https://zwiftpower.com/

It tracks results for official events. Used to be 3rd party but zwift owns it now. The nice thing is that it will filter and disqualify most cheaters, sandbaggers, and zpower users from the results, so you can see how you did on a more level playing field. Also gives nice breakdown of power numbers.

If you do any events, not even races just group rides and fondos and tdz and stuff it's worth getting setup.

And here I thought I was going to make the ride tonight, even rsvp’d! Sorry DH, thanks for putting these together - hopefully work dies down a bit and zwift is a thing again soon

    Great ride y'all!

Six of us, unless you count Dee who no one could see due to joining 30 seconds late. I'm not sure who's who, except for a couple folks... but I just dug back through this thread and figured out everyone. I think. If only there was a spreadsheet...

Weird glitch in the matrix tonight.
When “join now” popped up I hit “not yet” and at 6:00 it still had not asked me again.
So I quit my warm up ride and joined 0:45 seconds late (700m behind)
    BUT nobody saw me?
I apologized fir being late, told funny jokes, bragged about a piercer day today. And nobody responded to any of it...?

It was not until after the finish line that you guys saw my comments.
    Strange.
I also did not see Mike P? Do he ride? I thought I saw his comments afterwards?
I’ll update the names in a bit.
    See ya Thursday.
