Picked up the new m6 today. Skiing it tomorrow. M102 is one of my favorite skis so hopefully it’s just as badass.

Topsheet looks better in person. Not a huge fan of the black Spider-Man lines in the tip, but, besides that it looks slick.

Finally an update on the Rottefella cross country / rando hybrid system: https://scandinavianoutdooraward.com/alfa-sko-rottefella-rottefella-xplore-alfa-free-a-p-s-gtx/ and some more info here, but in Norwegian: https://www.friflyt.no/skiutstyr/her...ella-bindingen

Reverse tech style binding with pins in the shoe and a rubber dome on the binding to give resistance for cross country technique. 265g per binding. October 2021 release. 229€ list price.

3 shoes from Alfa and 2 two from Alpina.

Will be exiting to see how good they are to tele on. For now I think I will put this on my cross country / low angle tele skis, but not my ski touring tele setup. Would be interesting if say Scarpa would make a more downhill orientated boot for this.

Only thing noticeable between last year's and this year's catalog is the tongue is updated to "Griflex", whatever that means. Stiffer? Softer? Krypton 130 remains just "grilamid".

Hoping the color change and "new design" means current Lupo Pros may go on steep(er) discount by end of this year

As of yesterday the M6 is my favorite new 2022 ski. It's still no Stockli but I think a vast improvement of the M5.

All I care is that the clog on the Krypton & the Lupo remain PU. That is all. The various tongues are nice as the choice of materials helps the intended technique.

Really? How can it actually be that different over the M5?

fukdifikno, i found the M5 had a weird flex for me and a unpredictable reaction to tipping on edge YMMV

Skid the m6 today in all conditions - powder, big bumps, little bumps, pushed around heavy snow, chalky conditions, tight trees (east coast), steep groomers, more mellow trails - fantastic all around ski. Got the 184 (6 ft, 195 lbs). Swingweight seems light and it seems precise and slightly more floaty than the M5 in powder and a touch more forgiving and softer in the tips. No twichiness on run-outs, wasn’t hooky at all, could do pretty much anything and everything very well.

I also have the M102 in 177. It’s a total beast. I’ve been on about 15 different skis so far this year and the M102 and M6 are my two favorite (Bonafide 97 in 183 is pretty close too). I think the 102 is a better pure carver than the M5 and might hold an edge a bit better, but I’ve only spent one day on the M6. I’m also comparing the 102 in 177 to the M6 in 184.

Best part is that the fresh snow covered up the tips so i didn’t have to look at the black carbon in-lays all day!

Dalbello lists the AX HD as a 110 flex, and the AX 120 as a 120 (obviously). That 110 flex must be a typo labelling the HD as their mid flex AX?

The big take away from the Dalbello Catalog for the industry is the Lupo MX 120. The Pantera has needed tech inserts for a while now. about damn time.

NEXT: Atomic make the fucking Bentchetler 110 already. Abosulty zero folks outside of the two dozen muppets on epic/pugski/skitalk give a fuck about the Maven/Maveric/Vantage 4.million evolution of uninspired all mountain skis. Your Brand in NA is the Bentchetler. The 120 is literally the only ski over 115 that sells worth a damn at the retail level. Morons spend over retail for greatful dead graphic versions like it's a steel fucking rolex daytona. Make the width everyone wants to buy.

    Maven— as in “Bluehouse?”

Am I reading this wrong? Why is anyone talking about a Bluehouse Maven?

Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

Yeah that's weird but maybe the AX is softer if they gave it a softer tongue? Or it's a typo.

Also the MX120 looks like a 200g heavier air130 (toungeless tourer) but with a 102 last. Clog is most defently off the Lupo mold not Panterra bases off pictures.

Interesting line up changes for sure.
