Pivots as well. I haven't had issues with either Wardens or Aaatack ATs, however.

I have two questions for anyone who has used these and Maestrales (the "mango" vintage more specifically).

How's the walk mode compare? Not stated ROM but real world performance? I really want something that walks better than my Maestrales and may just end up looking at more uphill oriented boots, but have always been curious about this one.

Any thoughts RE sizing compared to Scarpa due to the funny "breaks on the half size" thing?

    Appreciate any info, thanks!

Used these boots to power a slalom ski today, plenty there. Wouldn’t do it daily but when ya ski a hour and pull race crew for 6 it pays off!

Way stoked on this boot, tours well, walks well, skis well

ZGTP is magnitude order better walking and skiing than Mango Maestrale. I was 27 Scarpa and 26 Tecnica

the walk mode seems comparable but they ski a lot better.

i was a 26.5 in the mangoes, 26.5 in the tecnicas but they are a much tighter fit, just over a finger of spacing. painful and hard to get in at first, and just seem to be modded by a boot fitter.

i had to remove the foot beds to get in. after ten days the liners have packed out so considerably that i could probably get the bed back in. it’s almost a different boot really.

if you are more concerned about the uphill then down maybe it’s worth trying something else though i do find these a little lighter and walk as well.

I don't find the ski mode on the Maestrales too bad, walking ROM kind of sucks though and there's a lot of friction. I guess more what I am after is the best uphill boot that still skis as well as Maestrales. And that fits, of course.

    Thanks!

This has probably been covered in this thread, but admittedly I didn’t want to look through every post...

Has anybody put aftermarket liners in these? The stock liners are comically flimsy. I can’t even get the boot off without the liner tongue twisting and running my entire foot along the shell plastic on the way out.

    Use tour wraps. Work great.

I put the liner on first then get in the boot.

Liner stays on my foot as I take the boot off.

Tecnica ZeroG Tour Pro - 2018- 9 boot

Most guys I know ski the scouts with an aftermarket liner. The stock liner is quite flimsy.

I’m in tour wraps as well.

Very happy with 26.0 MV Pro Tours in my 26.5 ZGTPs.

ski boots use one shell for the full and half size

Technica and every other boot maker break on the full size so 26.0 and 26.5 Technica will use the same shell

but scarpas break on the half size so the 26.5 and the 27 use the same shell, I believe the Scarpa sizing is true but the scarpa are starting at 26.5 so they are really 1/2 size bigger if that makes any sense??

which could splain why the scarpa feels bigger ... cuz it is

Range of motion with the wraps is still good? Any feedback on the traditional tours?

In my opinion pro tours suck. Also shared by my touring companions. ROM with tour wraps just fine.

I had the white Maestrale RS version of the Mango ‘regular’ Maestrale vintage.
Zero G Tour Pro walks better. Noticeably better, but not earth shatteringly good.

I thought the RS had the same walk mode as the regular Maestrale, but maybe a stiffer tongue made it walk a bit worse?

I got these boots. They flocking rule.

Ski as well as Kore 1s (better), tour better than Maestrale RS2s, 9523 sole, decently easy transitions, nice and defined heel cup. Only things I don't totally love are easily remedied - the liner and the "booster" strap.

Thanks for all the comments y'all. Thanks for the sweet boot Tecnica.

Tour Wrap liners in these boots really enhance the flex/heel hold and are generally just a really good pairing.

What strap did you switch too? An actual booster?

I will be putting on an expert Booster Strap. When I had RS2s, I weighed both powerstrap - the stock velcro strap (~50g) and the Booster (~70g). I was surprised the difference was so negligible. You better believe I was running BOOOOOOOOSTAHs about that. No velcro and tons of progresssssion.

And...I have a brand new 28 Tour Wrap sitting next to me here for my 28.5 ZGTPs. Got the TWs for my RS2s, but ultimately decided to pony up for this better-fitting boot for me. Figure I'll ski the stock liner a few more days before trying the Tour Wrap. Only have 5 days in them so far.

I'm just here to hype the ZGTP + tour wrap couple-dom. Like Ace and Gary.

They really are an awesome boot and the lower doesn't fold up on me like it did on the Hawx.

Checking in for a 0g update.

Still like the performance. One day of crampons that didn't fit right did some surprising damage to the shells at the toes. The liner is complete garbage and has packed out like wet cardboard. The strap is a joke and needs replacement too.

Intuition recommends the pro tour liner for this shell, it will be my first non-wrap intuition but the boot tours and skis well enough to warrant the dough.

Pretty cool that the performance merits this hassle though.

Replacing the stupid buckle on the power strap with one with a cam gripper (from a Mach1) makes a huge difference. I don't hate the stock power strap, if it actually stays tight. Which it doesn't with the stock buckle.

    did you order those?
I agree the "power lock" buckle on the Cochise works better.

That would be a huge fix for these.
