Like there’s no pandemic, we’re selling shit like crazy. Rentals are slightly down, but no one and I mean no one gives a fuck about frontline retail workers in ski area towns. We’ve had enough. Burnout is coming on strong.

65% of the weekend skiers and grocery store patrons are border crossers around here. Figure I might as well go NE, bringing a cooler full of food and drinks, no need to go anywhere, just do some skiing. Although a stop in Bethel for some togo 'Q is a must.

yea. another fully-abided to guidelines skier here. but yes if i was gonna break Q it would be the usual no-stop to the hill, bring my own everything and the usual boot-up at car routine. i've made *one* stop en route all season for anything on the road all season and that was avoidable.

sheltered by wood stove in bar yesterday. not crowded but was indoors with several unmasked patrons...one can leave the state and NOT do that but these (often ignored) guidelines factor in the fact that many (most?) are irresponsible beyond their own immediate circle of concern.

i imagine the busy ski towns (like buttah's) are filled with folks dining/shopping/partying like is 2019...

I dunno that it's rationalizing...I mean: if you're following the rules. I have the luxury of being employed...and can do it from home. I've been working from home since last March...and tested negative for COVID as recently as two weeks ago.

If I packed up my gear, a sleeping bag, and a cooler with PB sammiches and water...why shouldn't I come up there?

But if I were to rationalize: EPIC isn't letting me defer to 2022 and won't refund my $$$$, so: I might be visiting Stowe and/or the Cat.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Either you follow the rules in a pandemic or you don’t. Guess you could follow gba guidance and choose the rules that apply to you and ignore the rest

“ An individual arriving in Maine from a non-exempt state should have a sample taken for a COVID-19 molecular or antigen test no longer than 72 hours prior to arrival in Maine. If awaiting the test results upon arrival in Maine, the individual must quarantine until a result is available. The result must indicate the individual is COVID-19 negative. Alternatively, the individual may commit to quarantining upon arrival in Maine for 10 days.”

The above seems pretty reasonable for a person that is currently working from home, unemployed, or retired and wants to visit Maine.

Looks like I'm good2go, no restrictions.
Use of an empty house in Avon, IKON and a 3 day Saddleback pass, what else do I need?

    Travel and Visitor Information

If you are traveling, or planning to travel to Maine, please consult the Keep Maine Healthy plan and FAQs for the latest guidance. A list of Maine COVID-19 testing sites is here.

The plan relies on three cornerstones: 1) testing that encourages all visitors to “know before you go”; 2) screening for symptoms among travelers; and 3) engaging Maine communities to promote COVID-19-prevention best practices and public health education.

Got to say, I've always liked skiing in the cold. Really nice this morning, especially if you like laying down big turns on nicely groomed packed powder. Front row parking with no one there. Skied straight onto the lift every run. Stayed off the top and winds weren't bad. Boot heaters allowed me to outlast the 2 friends I started the day with.

WTF, our caseload is pretty horrendous right now. I really wish we would start a consistent nationwide response based on science and data.

I can say that based in how my county is doing, and my daily potential exposure that I will not travel and out family and friends at further risk.

BTW air BnB next door has the 3rd set of new tenants this week and Manchester was packed at noon yesterday with every color but green plates. Wish people would smarten the fuck up.

Stop it Bucket! You've done a FINE job virtue signaling, but you were spotted violating COVID restrictions drinking apres beers in SoVT just this week. Hope the skiing was worth exposing VTers to COVID!

It doesn’t feel as cold when you are earning your turns.

Approx 30 cars in the lots at a well known BC spot in the northern Greens. so we just skied away from them and found our own zone. We didn’t cross tracks with a soul.

That's odd. For some reason ML242 decided to edit my post and reset my TGR password. Is it wrong to mention a users very common first name that has been mentioned at least 4 times in this thread alone? It's almost like ML242 holds some sort of grudge, and abuses his TGR moderation powers to fuck with people that piss him off personally. Such a lame cuck move.

What grudge? Doxing is against the rules and two people reported it.
Maybe if you weren't too much of a coward to post with your real login you'd get slack. But since you don't want to, piss off.

Oh, and I didn't touch your password. Maybe another mod did but most likely you fucked it up in the shuffle of logging in and out. But i'll go ban you now, cheers.

My ski days took a hit from the vid, but back in the game now and not feeling any need to leave NY. Feels to me like there have been lots of shots at good snow. Helps to be old and on tele, I don't need too much vert to be happy.

More snow coming. Tuesday is looking Cat-ish right now.

I haven't really been paying attention to VT this year, but it's good now right? Looks good in this thread.

were spotted? that *would* be incredible given i don't drink apres beers (gotta drive home) and haven't been in southern VT since a year ago jan, when i skiied mt snow. unless you're one of those pricks who thinks MRG is too far south to be northern...

please though, share with me more details of my sighting. it would be fun to engage the *fantasy* that i'm traveling and not spending my weekends shredding hard groomers at night at the local bump (which i *totally* appreciate in a glad-i-don't-live-in-CT-or-RI-during-a-pandemic-way. no offense to those states or their inhabitants.)

guaranteed my bubble is smaller than your bubble so you can fuck off typing shit about which you know nothing,
only my friends call me bucket. (edit; haw! and i now see *still* do ;0)
