No rock hits, stuck...only sketchy on traverse below far east.

    Thanks for bowl update.

Skin up this afternoon was awfully hot, but found cold dry snow for down. Some womping on the skin in spooked me good...glad to be keeping it low angle.

Also to the six sets of now almost snowed-over tracks in Meadows...you fuckers are brave.

I got there around 1 pm today, and the lot was full, but I found a skinny space that others passed by, and had a full 18" on each side!

I walked past the folks who skied Meadows on my way to the lift, they said they got yelled at by patrol, and the skiing wasn't worth it. Far East skied pretty good, Angle face was brushier than I've ever skied it, and Chicken Chute Was pretty good down to the gully, which was narrow, with the expected deep ruts. The Out Run was fine, Pat's Bumps have not really developed yet.

Outhouse was open but I didn't ski it, the bottom of it wasn't showing any gaping holes yet. I think they might have opened Pressure Drop as well, but there were still closed signs when I went by there on Griz. I guess Long Horn /Short Horn were open, but I didn't go there.

The bottom line is, the mountain needs a lot of snow, but it's good to be skiing top to bottom without skating.

I was there this weekend, my first time there so limited frame of reference in terms of coverage, etc.

In my opinion it was skiing nice and in sheltered higher elevation zones it was boot top dry pow. Seemed busy and slightly overrun with college students but they all seemed to be skiing chair 1 so it was fine.

Pretty fun little hill, although I'd say the chairs are painfullyy slow, but suppose some people would say that's a benefit.

Chair 4 can be a little rough as I remember it for the amount of good terrain you get

It's not so much the time on Chair 4 as it is the lift lines, especially on powder Thursdays. I am willing to ride a 19 minute chair that has a flat runout* but standing in line for 20 minutes before you get on really kills the buzz, especially since there were quite a few years when there were rarely lift lines at 4 on Thursdays, and I can say this safely as the very first paying customer who ever rode that chair.

    * There is way more good vertical off Chair 4 when the snowpack is good than most people think.

Oh damn, I haven’t been to LT since 2010 when I left MT. Getting back up that way for a winter ski trip is on my list.

I don't understand why they run the chairs so slow, plenty of other small hills, even ones on diesel generators run their chairs much much faster (mt baker (fixed grip and diesel!) mission ridge, silver mt, for instance) There were pretty long lift lines on chair 4 for no other reason than lack of uphill capacity/slow chairs causing a bottleneck. I suppose it preserves the snow, but it didn't seem that powder was in short supply, in fact the lack of people skiing off-piste was surprising. Seemed like everyone hit the chair line on chair 1 and that was about it.

I got pretty cold riding chair 4 and never really felt like I could find a good groove.

Cool little hill but not sure I'd repeat. I'm sure the locals are happy to hear that...

I am sure they run the chairs as fast as they can. Chair 4 is ancient, an import from Targhee, where Dreamcatcher is now. I am not sure why it is so slow but it strikes me as similar speed to Chairs 1 and 2 at LT and the Riblets at Snowbowl and Discovery. As far as the rest of LT goes it has lots of zones that are not at all obvious, much more so than lots of other places its size. But yeah...no one should ski there.

Top of Snowbowl skied nice today. Definitely more winterlike snow up there than anyplace else I've been this year so far. Looking forward to coming back when the bowls fill in. I was surprised at the crowd up there though. Doesn't anybody in that town work? [emoji3]

Based on the chatter in the lift lines at Lost Trail, a lot of the people there were Totally Rad Skiers From Bridger™️.

    So, blame Bozeman.

Not sure anybody in Bozeman knows Snowbowl exists. [emoji1]

What are the chances that we get a decent snowfall out of this storm tonight. I have yet to snap into skis this year and need a fix.

Radar looks good in ID and E. WA, but seems to fizzle near MSO...was snowing a little around 5500 as I was skiing out today around 230.

4" with a light breeze will probably be pretty nice up top tomorrow. Adventure skiing on the way down.

Snowbowl skied well today, got sick of the long line and anti maskers on Lavelle and found good turns off griz majority of the day.

Good to be back at the bowl today. Minimal crowds the whole day, and despite being totally chewed out the snow stayed good.

Has anyone mentioned the new cut on TV mountain? It’s at a very interesting angle, and clearly no cleanup of the felled trees happened this summer. New power line? Future lift?

I’ll have to grab photos of it next time.

I think they mentioned in this year's edition of "snowbowl good times" that they cut part of the new line for the lift from the front side to the top of TV.

Did it get about freezing mid mountain?

Yeah it's the future lift line for the TV Mountain lift. Coming 2032 or thereabouts.
