Ahh dudes. L39ion of LA launch ride was this afternoon. Couldn't pass it up. If I was a real tough guy I would still join tonights group ride, but those L39ion guys were hammering and I am pretty smoked.

Not yet, but I have a small budget for one now. CL has had a couple used ones recently. If anyone is upgrading on here let me know!

Thinking about upgrading my computer hardware (but not the trainer). Watched this vid the other day and now I'm jealous and want that resolution. Anyone got any recs for a PC config that will do this?

Thanks for ride tonight guys - I think its hilarious zwift has Christmas sweaters so what better ride for us to break them out on? Matching red socks for me and red accents on the helmet for PL - looking sharp. Hopefully the update takes effect and we can all come finely dressed for the Christmas eve ride.

Sorry about your technical issues FT!

No worries! I got a good workout in anyway. Did some research and I think it’s from connecting all my devices through my cheap ANT dongle. Next time will leave everything on ANT except the Wahoo trainer link which I’ll do over Bluetooth. Hopefully that makes it more stable. If that still breaks I’ll reverse it.

Even with only 5 guys it was a really fun ride. Thanks boys!

Yeah ... fun stuff. Thanks again for the ride tonight guys. By the end my angry saddle sore was going full postal. Need better main-taint-enance.

I’m all for the ass cream on these indoor rides especially when you hardly get out of the saddle or move much. Keeps the wolf at bay.

Was pretty cool. Everyone was auto kitted in L39ion kits on the group ride tonight. So it's basically impossible to get custom Zwift kits unless you are like a real team, huh?

Thanks boys for a fun push. I would never do this type of workout on my own, on a snowy Tuesday night in December.

Sorry to have missed last night. Attempted a snowy mtb ride, but quickly bailed for Zwift which had some really weird calibration issues and called it for the day. Was kinda funny watching it think I was putting out 10x the power, hit all the power achievements and was pegged at 2,000w while I was really close to 150w. Hopefully works again tomorrow if I can make the Christmas eve ride.

I’ve never used zwift so pardon my ignorance. On the TGR rides if someone is well off the pace does it affect the rest of the pack? Like if I joined and was only putting out half the power ( no idea what I’ll actually do ) would that totally fuck you guys?

Not at all. You'd just be off the back. Join and work hard to stay in the draft and you'll keep up better then alone. Challenge yourself to stay for 1 lap, you'll surprise yourself

Awesome, thanks for the info! I really have no idea what type of wattage I’d put out. I don’t have a smart trainer, only the wahoo puck things on my “ dumb” trainer. I’m very interested to try tho so maybe after the holidays I’ll sign up and join!

Our pace is not very hard and for the first two laps we'll slow down to keep the group together if someone is off the back. If you're really worried about it you could also make yourself a little lighter. Basically it's 2-2.5 w/kg most of the time, a little more up the hill, and the end of the 3rd lap turns into a bit of a race.

For the festive 500 thing I'm riding the four horseman route at some point on xmas, but I think it'll be hard to get something organized for a group. 26th is london pretzel and I think I will make a meetup for that one

Sand ... take Jamal’s comments with a weee grain of salt. He’s kinda strong. Just cmon out and jump right in with both feet as there’s no such thing as failing. Smart trainer makes all the difference on Zwift so if you end up liking it, make the investment.

Yep 1.21 GW. Pretty sure I’ve come close to that outdoors, but can’t replicate that kind of power on my trainer.

Nice things about these group rides is that if you get spit off the back you don’t actually get lost in middle of no where’ w/ no map. /true story

So let’s call me 82kg. So that’s 205 watts of sustained power for the laps and then it’s a free for all at the end?

Sorry I missed the ride. Took an impromptu trip to Arkansas to ride bikes. I’ll be back on the zwift horse next week!

Local guy has a used Saris H2 on Craiglist for $650. Been for sale for a month. I offered him $500. He didn't bite. Damn. $650 for a used, not top of the line trainer seems like too much. Those are only like $800ish new.

I wish Gear Swap pricing rules applied to "normal" people.
