    Cool astronomy event soon

I took this off of Facebook. I had heard of it before, but they included an awesome graphic with the post. Southwest skies, just after sunset.

"This is truly a once in a lifetime event - or more accurately a once in many lifetime events. Jupiter and Saturn will be extremely close as in - view them both in the eyepiece. Without visual aid they will almost look like a single very bright star - some are calling this the Christmas star. Enjoy this rare event and start watching them become kissing cousins now."

    Erudite.

Bunny skipped over the part where this is being called the star of Bethlehem.

Read some articles saying there was a triple convergence 2,020 years ago.

Will Blondie make a comeback tour?
    Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers

His post includes a quote that refers to it as the "Christmas Star." That sure seems to convey the message you think he neglected to include.

This is pretty sweet, I'm going to keep an eye out for it, but I have a feeling the 13,000' mountain a few miles to the southwest of me is going to block my view.

You might be surprised, keep an eye out after sunset - Very prominent. Not sure how close you are to her flanks, but they might be far enough west you can see.
Mars is out right now too.

I followed the two planets on my way from Stanley to Boise last night. Now I know which two planets they were.
