Bump. My Wife tells me stuff has to be ordered early this year. Go figure.
KQ - wtf do I get my Wife? She has robes, slippers...comfy stuff. Doesn’t really cook. Outdoor gear is covered. Basically, she doesn’t need a damn thing that I can think of other than socks. Got those covered.
Whatcha got?

Body/bath stuff is good if she's into that but what about something practical like WeatherTech floor mats for her car?
Does she garden? Does she like yard art? Bird watching stuff?
Have you looked through the Novica site? They have some need unique gifts that support small artist around the globe.
Are there any classes she'd like to take? Skiing camps? Spa weekend? Hammock?

I think I'm going to get my mom this for her birthday/Christmas (close together). She's always liked puzzles and with the pandemic she's been hold up in her apartment with little to do but read and watch TV.
I like that it's a separate table and she doesn't have to have the puzzle out on her dining room table all the time. Bonus that it has wheels so she can take it to where she wants to sit. Minus that it doesn't have a storage drawer for the pieces. I suppose I could always get her a drawstring bag that she can hang off the table. I'll keep looking at other designs but for her I think this might be best.

Ripen avocados fast with an adorably small sock (yes, a sock) made just for the job. The Avocado Sock is made from pure Shetland wool that helps move along the ripening process, thanks to its natural lanolin and cozy warmth. It’s scaled to snugly fit an avocado as it gently and evenly encourages ripening in about 48 hours and makes for a super-cute addition to the kitchen counter or fruit bowl.

Well, this was easy. My wife informed me that she wanted an electric Stihl leafblower for Christmas. Bought and done.
Hope KQ doesn’t mind if I throw in a recco here. I was doing some Xmas ordering and hitting up this place - I thought it might be a good fit for the thread. These folks have amazing olive oil and salami, just fantastic. It’s an old family joint. I haven’t tried the balsamic, but some oil, some balsamic, and a salami would be well received by anyone that likes food.

Saw this in Dear Abby last night and decided it was worth sharing esp. given the current state of affairs. What a wonderful gift. Simple, homemade, beautiful and not just for kids and grandparents:
DEAR ABBY: As a grandparent, I feel the Christmas gift my husband and I received last year from our granddaughter was a gift of a lifetime. We have enjoyed it all year. It was a gift of memories, written on 12 cards to be opened on the first day of each month. She had inserted each card into an individual envelope, designated with which month it was to be opened. She put them in a box wrapped with a bow and placed it under the tree.
The excitement generated while anxiously awaiting a new month's arrival so the new memory could be read created enthusiasm among the entire family. In each envelope were experiences we had forgotten or never realized had made an impact on her life.
A gift like this requires only time and 12 pieces of paper. The concept could even be reversed so it would be from grandparent to grandchild. Few of us grandparents need material gifts, but the caring, thought and love shown by this gift will remain with us all our lives. -- WANTED TO SHARE, FRESNO, CALIF.

What kind of socks does an (hispanic/mexi/human) Adopt-a-Family’s only male, age 11, want with his Vans???
My son gave me a Patagonia Better Sweater last xmas. It was a regift from his in laws. I highly recommend. Mine is a 1/4 zip pullover. I wear it around the house. It could work as a mid layer but weight, density, and appearance wise it's more for casual wear I think.
Why Vans of course!

I feel like I'm stuck in Grammy's attic every time I read this thread. I am, admittedly, an amazing gift giver. Never been asked what I ever wanted once in my life, thus never received a remarkable gift personally. But if you look into the soul of a person, you can see what they really want. Just approach that. It's not about money, or fur shoes or socks. It's all about connecting with intention to that person's soul. If you know them well enough to gift them, then you should know what they desire. Give them a taste and let them know that you get them.
