For the record, I am also telling everyone to heed all rules and not be stupid assholes. I just have low expectations based on recent evidence of people being incapable of doing the right thing. There will be beer and powder in everyone's future after we get through this.

26 Pages of endless rambling, and not one single ski resort open. Let's get this baby up to 100 before anything opens and 1,000 pages at season's end. Should be easy when the resorts shut down in December.
Skiing made me Board
I only wish I lived close enough to hike to terrain but I don't. I also wished people would listen and obey the restrictions in place but they won't. This is part and parcel why we are even having resurgence like we are. We have had a dramatic increase of sick patients over the last three weeks at work.
One thing I have noticed with the new admissions this time through is, while they are sick, they are slightly less critical as they were in March, April and May.
Bottom line wear your mask, stop hanging out and stay home when you (the collective you) don't need to be out.

Why don't you go practice fallin' down? I'll be there in a minute.
Serious question: if all sports (non-school related) in VT are closed how is skiing supposed to happen? It's not a sport?
I think it is indoor team sports for club and rec leagues.
But, given that we can’t even walk with a neighbor, I am not so sure how skiing will work.

That You Rog?
Looks like Covid is Knee to waist high. Shit.
I have been watching this evolve since January in Wuhan as it affects my daily work.
I haven't been outside my county since February, haven't been to a bar or restaurant since March. I just broke my no takeout food rule last month for a single meal, and am right back to avoiding food I don't prepare myself. I did chance seeing my parents once, their town has 300 people in it, (next closest town is 25 miles and only has 1500 people), they drove out when the overall load was low, no stops along the way and didn't leave my house. I'm glad I saw them because this isnt going away anytime soon. I wish I could see my grandmother turn 91 this next weekend, but that's not going to happen. This is probably her last birthday.
I'm going back to only going to work (we aren't allowed wfh) and the grocery store every 2 weeks at odd hours. I went last night and the damn bowling alley had a packed lot for league night.
What I see on a daily basis just baffles me. Supposedly educated adults making poor decisions, like this is all still a hoax 11 months later. People just don't get it, they want they're freedoms at the price of death and suffering (financial, mental and physical) for others. Stay the fuck home. If you must got out, wear a fucking mask and stay away from people.
If we can all just get over ourselves for a god damn month this will get a while lot better. 3 weeks, that's all we need. Stay the fuck home. If your are essential, as in medical or life safety, due your diligence but keep it to a minimum.
This makes absolutely no fucking sense, I can go to a restaurant and sit inside with God knows who visiting from anywhere USA but can't walk 10ft apart outside with my neighbors who I know are as cautious/conscious about being spreaders as my wife and I are, pure stupidity there!
Yup. Not sure what the reasoning was behind a lot of the news restrictions, seems a bit scattered.

Its not the visitors for God fucking know where that is causing the increase. Its your native Vt'ers. Stop blaming out of towers for everything

I can’t understand how ppl can’t get it. It’s not an elitist local Vermont resident slant, y’all gotta keep ur petri dish out of the next petri.
It’s an interesting case study in humans’ need for interaction.
FWIW, I am hearing that ski areas will push back to January 1 - several independent sources confirming.
My concern is that if they miss Turkey day & Xmas/NYD..... it’s game over- not spinning this season.
Skins are already on the skis bros.
Yep. Pretty much

Irip, while I believe you really do want the best outcome, you gotta realize that not everyone is as secure with their employment and financial security through this as you are, and to just say shut it down really fucks over a lot of people and you should probably be more cognizant that a lot of businesses will not just be able to bounce back from this. Health care and your job aren’t going anywhere, but that is just a small slice of the Vermont economy pie and a financial bailout is not guaranteed for the people who are paying financially for your security.
We already basically did a hard closure once, and yet here we are.
Flatten the curve has now turned into any uptick in cases is not acceptable. Obviously no one is wishing this on anyone but come on man, over half this country lives paycheck to paycheck and just saying shut it down is a non starter for them.
I typically hate this saying, but a lot of people need to check their privilege on this and realize they are at the top of the food chain so to speak here and the ramifications for them are basically non existent vs what the majority of the country, and the neediest of people, are facing when you say, shut it down for a month.
